I've been invited to a wedding in Costa Rica and I'm looking for creative fits to wear to the ceremony. The only guideline they provided was to make sure you wear something comfortable for the weather, which is very humid and stays around 70 degrees for most of the day and night.

I was thinking about wearing shorts with a dress shirt, preferably patterned (maybe Dries Van Noten's styles) along with a sport jacket or blazer in case the breeze is particularly chilly that night.

I was thinking about a sport jacket in this color, or alternatively in burgundy since I look good in those colors. I'm chiefly attending the wedding to meet people, network, and fuck around.

I have a bottle of English Laundry Notting Hill, which is considered rather generic as far as fragrances go. I'll be browsing the fragrance threads here all week, but if anyone knows of any fragrances which will suit the sort of vibe and smell of salt in the air then by all means.

White linen shirt and either dark green or khaki-ish linen trousers. Comfortable shoes or slippers. Thats it.

Not even the bridge and groom are going to be wearing formal clothing, already talked with them and for the most part it's a casual/semi-formal affair. These people are ravers, most of their friends are ravers. I may not be a raver but by no means am I trying to be the most formal person in the room.

If this were the typical wedding vibe I'd be wearing one of my suits and wouldn't be bothering to post her you simps.

In catholic countries there is often the tradition that a wedding is separated in two events: the regular church wedding, where you are supposed to use formal clothing; and a celebration a couple hours after that that is casual. Many people of the atheist and secular persuasion just opt to have the latter, if that is the case, go for it. I would opt against using shirts if it is in the evening, though. Linen pants?

It's in the evening, and definitely sold on linen trousers. Browsing through different pairs right now.

White linen trousers are a banger for tropical parties like you are going, specially if it is on the beach. If you combine it with a light colored pastel-like dries shirt it will look great, but it may be hard and expensive to find one like that. Shoes I would opt for brown brogues derbies or white casual sneakers. No belt, so the trousers need to fit perfectly.
