That looks ok, it's looks like a finer weave, as opposed to a thicker more outdoorsy tweedy weave. Obviously, khakis would go with this. Dark brown cords or brown chinos, dark blue, maybe dark forest green cords.

>> No.14902511

>During the early 2010s, American preppy guys moved away from the hip-hop influenced fashions of the early 2000s and begun to dress in a more classic 1950s Ivy League style[276] with sweaters, Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes, Aran sweaters, cardigans, Oxford shirts, Cricket pullovers, wingtips, stripy polo shirts, hats like the fedora, khaki or pastel colored Vineyard Vines, Nantucket Reds, white or bright pastel color socks worn with sneakers and Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes, colored jeans, white Nike Elite crew socks, baseball jackets, khaki shorts, and tapered chinos.[277][278]

>The business casual look of the 1990s and early 2000s remained common in many parts of the Americas, with jeans, loafers, boat shoes and sneakers being seen as acceptable to wear in the workplace.[158] The decline in the formality of men's fashion that started in the 1960s continued until 2012, with men wearing informal clothing on a regular basis, even at work or while travelling, as an apparent extension of Beau Brummell's older idea that gentlemen shouldn't try to outshine the ladies for attention.[citation needed] This contrasted to Britain, Italy, Europe, and the urban Northeastern US, where more formal Mad Men-inspired business clothing such as slim-fitting grey two piece suits had made a comeback in the workplace during the early 2010s.[159] At this time, tweed cloth sportcoats became acceptable town wear, and business suits imitated the broad shouldered, form fitting styles of the 1920s,[160] sometimes with contrasting lapel piping.

Wtf, sneakerfags told me the suit and classic prep style were dead!

Oxford blue and white shirts
Olive, khaki, and navy slacks
Wool socks (with compression socks under them so I can stand for a long time, everyone in the field does this)

As long as it doesn't show through your shirt you should be good. I'd go with a deep v neck undershirt since they catch your armpit sweat/deodorant stains. A tank is a good option if your sweat is mostly from the back.
>>14904910
You can play around with the rules and bend them to experiment or find your own style within the range. It just won't be trad, prep, or ivy. I'm not a fan of rigid rules in dressing yourself but the three styles allow for a lot of variation in your fits while still staying in the genre. You just can't throw on a t shirt, jeans and boat shoes and call it prep. Also LARP feels like a word that has no meaning anymore in this general. Calling someone a larper for dressing a certain way seems like "I don't like it but I also can't verbalize why".

I suspect the poly/cotton one might be a bit more waterproof, but honestly I don't think it matters. Tight 100% cotton cabardine is really well waterproof for anything that isn't a serious downpour/storm, and the blend isn't going to help in that case either because the seams aren't taped. In other words, both are good!

A green sports coat or blazer is great and works well with light pants. That blazer, however, doesn't look too good - it seems to be a size too small, and the buttoning point is at least 5cm too high, and the trousers are too low rise to really work with that jacket.

I like the idea, but >>14907948 is right. The sleeves are clearly too small and short as well. Also, what the hell is going on at that pocket? The boutonierre is too big, is in the wrong place and has some weird wire hanging out of it?
But a green blazer in a more casual, softer, fabric, lower button holes and a larger lapelle would look great. Maybe even add in contrasting buttons?

Gandy is basically the face of contemporary menswear, I think both the pics you posted are from him advertising Marks & Spencer garbage. His job is basically to be so handsome that you don't notice the polyester and bad fits.

As far as I know, John Smedley has a lot of history, but their fabrics are also fragile (at least in the last years). Boggi on the other hand is less prestigious, but I don't really how good their wool is.
And to make it even harder, there's a significant price difference (if you compare the original price of both items).

This guy has a somewhat odd (e.g. fabric, color, and pattern selection) batch of NWT Belvest tailoring in his store. Belvest is a reputable maker that used to produce the tailoring for companies like Drakes, among others with a similar aesthetic. Most of the pieces are 40R (50 in eu sizing), but there are a few ones in other sizes in there. Lots of unlined, half lined, and softly structured options in here. I copped two sportscoats from him last week and got them, both were as described and were spot on to the measurements in the listing. On both items I used the make an offer option and lowballed them at $140, both were accepted no issues.

So, maybe some good deals if there are any other anons that fit into a slightly trim 40R cut.

i would go business casual/dressed up casual with a darker color palette, but not all black everythang.
but i have no clue desoo. my reasoning is that biz cas strikes that zone where it could still pass off as casual, but wouldnt look particularly out-of-place if it ended up being a tie and suit. darker colors wont look too weird if everyone did end up wearing black, but would still look acceptable if no one is wearing black.
