I just got this in the mail. Make my mind up for me, /frag/. Do I like it?

>> No.14816761

Let's update this chart. It's fairly good but it needs some refreshment as some of the stuff here is mislabeled, discontinued, showing too much of personal biases of the author or even obscure. The structure is great and descriptions are good too, let's just update content to make it more relevant and helpful. We can maybe add a new 'uncoventional' category. I'd suggest following assumptions
>we keep the structure of 4 frags in each subgroup
>for each subgroup we decide upon 1 relatively cheap and accessible fragrance - <$1/ml if possible, so the chart is helpful for everyone
>2 mid-priced fragrances between $1 and $2.5 per ml, so we can have interesting and varied choices
>1 more expensive >$2.5 per ml (if needed), so we can have snice niche things
>we pick only well-rated things as recommendations and try to give the priority to frags that are widely discussed in the community and of well deserved status
>while we obviously try to make choices as eponymous of the subgroup as possible, there's no point of having fragrances smelling virtually the same or clones - like Aventus and CDNI
>we try to keep houses on the chart varied to reflect many possible choices in modern niche perfumery

I quite like the Eau Sauvage EdT but I can see that it's not quite modern take on citruses, so it may smell dated to some. Eau Sauvage Parfum though is 10/10 as the other anon said. If my house was on fire and I could take only one bottle it would be one of Eau Sauvage Parfum/ Chypre Palatin/New York Intense.

I feel the same way if we would need to kick out something. But I personally don't feel like we should include Issey. I agree with the criticism of my Aqua di Gio from another anon in the last thread. Literally everyone and their mothers know AdG/Issey.
>To be honest, there should be a pastebin with an expanded list of these fragances for bookeeping.
Yeah, maybe that's a good idea. Especially if we want maybe to make two charts: designer and niche as someone suggested. At the moment I keep everything in a text file on my PC, so nothing is lost out of suggestions that are given in these threads. However, I feel like we shouldn't maybe over complicate things for now and try to just get things done first and just refresh the previous chart and only then expand it.

Big fan of Eau *des* Sens, but there are a ton of citruses out there. My only warning is not to overload the chart with /frag/ brand favs (e.g. diptyque, CdG). it seems the original did well at diversity. Noted. Diptyques are good quality and accessible literally in every department store, so I can imagine that would be good to have there philosykos, eau des sens and tam dao. I think having 3 (4 if stuff is really good and relevant) examples from a house is reasonable. Marketing is obviously the biggest part of price one pays in retail but composing a fragrance is also an art and you can’t just source ready oils from China. Josh Lobb, the perfumer for Slumberhouse (really the only person involved in the entire operation as far as I know) is notoriously flaky. He’s one of those artist types, he lives in some artist commune in Oregon apparently, and seems to give zero fucks about money. He basically releases batches whenever he can be assed, often promises new scents or new batches then takes months beyond the stated date to deliver. My bottle of Norne shipped 3 weeks late because there were “production problems with the perfumer” according to the email I got from Luckyscent (ie. Josh was too busy doing drugs, meditating, and/or wandering around the woods). He also very rarely responds to emails or comments on his Instagram, so you can’t even ask him if a new batch is coming soon.

So yeah, basically new bottles might be released next month or 2 or 3 years from now. No way of knowing. So, if you’re interested in his scents at all, best to get them when they’re available. I had to wait 2 years to get my bottle of Sadanne. Really a shame that such a talented perfumer is so unreliable and seemingly apathetic.

Is ELDO laughing at SEXcore here?
>The water slips over him as if sliding down a marble rock, sinking into the grooves of his muscles, vanishing into his pores. This is fresh, pure water, with top notes of aldehydes and lemon, a water that washes away the sins of the night and leaves the skin luminous. Tom of Finland feels clean, like a shaving from a cake of soap. It is an ode to the beauty of the male body and to the radiance of the natural self. For this man, clothing becomes a jewel-case that serves to reveal the true erotic power of the flesh. Tom of Finland is a breath of fresh air, offering unrestricted access to the immense outdoors, the depths of the forest, with notes of birch leaves, cypress, galbanum and pine at its heart. Straight, gay... these words are irrelevant here. Tom of Finland is beyond sexuality – he is sex, in all its fullness and magnitude, open and erect. Fantasy clings to him like his leather jacket, with suede, musk, and gray amber in the base notes. His belt is fastened with an accord of pepper and spicy-fresh saffron, tangled with a blond suede sensuality on a vanilla bed of tonka bean and iris. This is a man who wants to play, to love, to die and be reborn, again and again. Tom of Finland is a tribute to tomorrow’s glorious possibilities.

AQposter here, Nikos Sculpture and Laura Biaggoti Roma Uomo Cedro came in the mail today.
>Nikos Sculpture
First couple of sprays and I'm surprised how much this stuff smells like GIT. There's some added sweetness from vanilla and tonka bean and some light orange blossom, but I'd say this is like 75% GIT. Super fresh and soapy, not as oriental/sweet as I was expecting. I'll post more later about it of course.

>Roma Uomo Cedro
Bought this because I love the original Roma Uomo and was curious about the flankers. Coincidentally I also love Diesel's Fuel for Life which Annick Menardo also composed. Cedro is pretty much in between both as far as smell, with an added aquatic nuance. Great stuff. I'll post more about it later on this week as I'm going to mostly focus on Sculpture tonight.

I love this shit, but it's cheap and want to know if there's an even better quality fragrance that hits the same notes.

When I was in High School, girls constantly complimented me on this stuff. IDC if it wasn't super expensive, it worked.

Here's Ulta.com's breakdown:
>Top - ginger pepper cocktail, raindrop accord, >chilled sudachi
>Middle - black basil, cedar leaf, hydroponic >sage
>Base - labdanum, vetiver, oud, solid amber

FragranceX's breakdown:
>Its top notes of ginger and pepper give it a >spice-filled, energizing opening, that is >balanced out by its fresh middle notes of >vetiver, cedar, black basil, and sage. Finally, >slightly sweeter, sensual base notes of >labdanum, myrrh, amber, patchouli, and oud >work to tie the fragrance together.

>1. Beck
Shes blonde hair blue eyes laid back, shes a vegetarian and is easy to talk to think altier since they are supposed to be about animal cruelty stuff
>2. lind
can be flirty decently extroverted easy to talk to but also can be inward and not want to be around people
>3. Mad
Blonde, Can be hard to talk to as she isnt much of a conversationalist, has a tendency to zone off into space overall bubbly and excitable
>4. Kenna
Black hair pale skin, shes my ex. Awkward, very attractive thinks shes funny but shes not very easy to talk to and very outgoing however the way she acts can make people not want to be around her liked prada candy night, not super invested in getting this one right since she dumped me
>5. Alan
No non-sense more masculine than most girls i know but in a good way, she is easy to talk to but will call you out on BS. Likes liquor so i think a boozy scent would be good here
>6. Bella
Black and stoic but easy to talk to and will keep secrets. Shes reliable and not vey emotional
>7.meg
Married quiet does not like carnal speech and is in general very reserved, dresses conservativly
>8.Fletcher
Bubbly but not in a super crazy way but rather in a reserved kind of way if that makes any sense shes like 27ish
>9. Jen
Likes to work out decently fit as far as our group goes and is married, a very mild demeanor. In her mid 20's
