Shout out to the anon who recommended this as an alternative to Gucci Pour Homme II. Shit's cash.

It's the "cozy in a log cabin with a pumpkin pie baking in the oven" version of GPH II.

Also cheap as hell.

Thread is picking up, so I want to report that I've chosen the pic because I got my sample of Winter Palace today. Sprayed it after a training this morning and can't stop sniffing my wrists. That's such a good scent. Fresh, zesty, ambery, deep. I reckon it can be worn all year round but at heat waves and freezing cold winter days. Good stuff. I really hope I'll find it at least to be bad performing because otherwise I won't have an excuse to don't cop a bottle.
>>14757667
There's plenty of stuff that I hate but when it comes to vile fragrances then I find ELDO Rien Intense absolutely unwearable, basically attention-whoring in a bottle, Hyrax is famously fecal and extreme. Some of the oud attars I tried in Arabian Oud shop in NYC were also quite vile. Out of the stuff I hate then for sure many cloying trivial designer stuff, overdosed plebeian ambroxan, turberose+gourmands/tobacco almost universally makes me vomit (think Rome 1963 by 4160 Tuesdays or Cafe Tuberosa by Atelier Cologne). I also can't stand any perfume with heavy immortelle note as it reminds me of Rosół (polish broth) lol.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. People do recognize the smell
of best sellers and will think some are pretty generic even if they’re not interested in frags.

Niche also doesn’t smell like beavers ass. Most niche are actually pretty boring and plenty aren’t as well done as designer scents. But there’s also plenty that smell great.

There’s good from both sides.

People have an issue with this dude’s collection because it’s pretty redundant. If you own a blue designer you don’t need to own another 10 that more or less smell the same.

I just did math as a warning for newbs coming to this thread. This collection made only of shopping mall designer scents costed $1,633.82 if everything was bought on discounters websites (I tried to account for bottle size) but I doubt that so it probably costed closer to $2,000. You will likely realize over time that 90% of scents you have are trivial and redundant, but since you got 2.4 liters of fragrance here, first you'd need to spray them roughly 19,200 times to finish all of the bottles. At a generous 5 sprays routine per day this would take 3840 days, so roughly 10.5 years. 10.5 years of spraying the same 26 designer scents over and over again just because you were an overexcited faggot who bought all of that in his first 2 months of getting into this hobby thanks to some Youtuber was recommending them as pantydroppers. Based. Quite surprised that it is only $2k though. Now imagine using Sauvage in 10 years time. Always sample first and then buy a small decant (especially with expensive stuff) before jumping into buying a full bottle boys. Also go for the smallest size possible if you're not sure if you are absolutely in love with a scent and going to be in 1 years time. It costs more per ml but this is just a marketing hack to make you buy 100ml as you start thinking 'if I buy 100ml I'm saving by a lot' so you can feel pleasantly smart about yourself and pull a trigger on a more expensive thing that you probably don't need. This hobby can be really affordable with a proper sample routine.

There is plenty of good niche shops in Poland. To give you some idea: Lulua (probably the only place that carries Slumberhouse that I know of), Mood Scent Bar (I've sampled Avignon from them myself) and Quality Missala in Mariott in Warsaw. However, I've been to them only in Warsaw/Kraków but afaik they have branches in other cities as well. Worth trying to look them up in Gdańsk. All of them have really good selection of niche stuff and great sampling offers. Avignon is not a safe blind buy. Try to sample them in any of these shops. Also you might want to check La Liturgie des Heures if you're into churchy type of incense.

Lmao this is so true but inexplicable at the same time for everyone who has spent some time in educated international spheres. I remember a conference I attended long time ago at Nantes, France. We went for a posh dinner after the first day of the conference. There was me, a few Italian colleagues, a few frenchies and some other randoms. One of these randoms was German. We had a typical light hearted dinner chit chat talking about history, where are we from a bit of culture etc. The German guy didn’t contribute anyhow and just sat there silently laughing at our jokes. At some point one of the organisers asked him “and zoo are you??”. It was his time to shine. He said: “Bonn.”. Everyone was looking at him nodding heads waiting for him to tell something more about the city or himself or whatever. He probably realised that and said “That’s where Haribos originate from! Do you know what Haribo stands from?”. “Hans-Riegel-Bonn”. Silence. He apparently thought that no one has understood his wittiness so he decided to explain it “HAns-RIegel-BOnn!”. Everyone was cringiying at hiding their laughter, so one of the frenchies said “clazzik German creativiti” to make the atmosphere bearable again. Everyone burst with laughter and the German guy understood that we’re laughing at him not with him. The rest is history. He started some autistic screeching rant about great German composers and philosophers to show how creative the German nation can be. Everyone was getting more and more amused listening to him - it was like watching a circus. Then he moved to conclusions about modern times and how EU is only a thing because of German taxpayers and how this conference couldn’t happen without their money. I’m sure that if you wanted to you could hear crickets playing their sweet Nachtmusik on the other side of the window it was so silent at our table. But me and, I think, everyone enjoyed the show severely. It was almost unreal conversation

GOD you fucking pajeets disgust me. All my thoughts of pajeets are negative I really can't believe a people like you exist. They are at the peak of commodity fetishism, not only do they worship brands but they have no idea what makes them "good". Like ants drawn to sugar, it is a base insectoid instinct within them, they see others flocking to something and they must have it. Look how many Dubai millionaires have gold plated euro cars or how many indians go to the gym in skinny jeans and tank tops. It is all performative, bestial.

>When did you take the high end/online only pill fa?
I took the pill since the beginning when I compared prices but still go sampling whenever I'm at the mall for whatever reason

Last time I wen't was with a friend of mine looking for a fragrance and took me along for my alleged expertise in fragrances although I'm very much a noselet who compulsively buys perfumes
>Show him some nice fragrances like Eau Sauvage, La nuit de l'homme, Aqua de gio, etc
>He's not interested in any of them
>Recognize my own anosmic self in him take him to what he's really looking for
>Eros, Ultra male, Sauvage, etc
>Takes a liking on the Dior Sauvage line but can't decide which one to take
>Old lady associate keeps trying to push the newer (and more expensive) parfum with buzzwords worthy of the autistic spin man himself
>His nose leans more towards the EDT and the lady is getting frustrated
>"Its hard to get a sense of the smell with so little, here get a good whiff" as she sprays like 5 shots of Sauvage Parfum on my unsuspecting friend all over his shirt and neck
>5 sprays
>of fucking Sauvage in a hot sunny day
>never seen a true chad miasma until now
>the very little sense of smell he had left is now tainted with the smell of sandalwood and citrics for the rest of the day
>Everything smell of sauvage parfum
>I show him some more fragrances like BDC and Terre d' Hermes but his nose was already poisoned
>He goes back and gets Sauvage in the end

Its actually a nice fragrance but the experience left me shocked, retail work has left these people soulless with only that top performer bonus or whatever in mind
