I think it was a beige pair of wallabees with beige khakis and a beige shirt with a white undershirt to start off.
I think the costume was designed to say: dried up, sexless, and middle aged in a way that left no doubt whatsoever. The clothes got darker as the character got darker, but the fundamentals didn't change.
