Currently considering growing it back out, but reluctant due to the time commitment it requires. Growing it with a beard is not an option.

Be the Mustache Guy, not "some dude with a mustache", anyone who wants to try wearing a mustache should either commit fully or dont, wear it big and proud, a mustache takes a minimum of 4 months for it to actually have a comfortable shape, its not something that you can do for "just a month" (i.e. Movember)

2. A mustache goes well with a lot of things, as people have mentioned, mustaches are great and effay when paired with some stubble, and the rule to this is, the more attractive you are, the less stubble you need, treat the stubble here as a beard, if your face cannot carry the mustache on its own, wear some stubble.

3. and is the most important part, as established, a mustache works great with a lot of things, but a mustache works best when worn with confidence, imo this is what separates a guy who looks like a pedophile and the guy who actually pulls off a mustache, and the thing you have to remember here is, you don't have to be conventionally attractive to pull it off, you just have to wear it with pride, as in if you want to try a mustache, go try it, you shouldn't care about what people say about it.

4. Mustache is a statement, it always is, and the thing you have to know about it is that people will always have a negative initial reaction about it, almost everytime people will want you to shave it off, but something that you have to remind yourself is, you have to give people time to adjust too, give them 2 weeks to a month, and the mustache will blend to your profile.

I'm maybe a year in without trimming and I know some guys can grow what I have in less than half the time. So you might need 4 months or even longer sometimes. I'm also in my early 20s, and hair grows faster as you get older, so if you're still younger, you'll notice this changes with time.

Oof, that has only happened to me once so far. She was being passive aggressive though, she knew I was a dude. She is a boomer who is mad about still working at chic-fil-a at 70 years old.
