Go to a thrift store, you don't have to buy anything. Watch some sartorial YouTube channels-- particularly about judging quality. Look at all the clothes at the thrift store, and start training your eye to see quality (stitch quality, material weight-- threads per square inch, hand, etc.) Try stuff on if you have the time and aren't squeamish or go to a nice store-- otherwise go to a department store and try shit out in the dressing room. Analyze what you look like in clothes in the mirror-- really analyze. Taste isn't something you're born with, you need to develop your "taste" i.e. ability to judge clothes. Pick up a fashion mag and look at the photosets in them, why do the clothes the models are wearing in staged photos look good? Notice small things, like how their pants fit and break, etc. A lot of this knowledge can be gleamed just from YouTube channels.
