I sleep in the master bedroom in front of the tv. I have a set of six blankets and five pillows I use for sitting and sleeping on.

During the day I roll them up and store them in the closet until I come back home. At night time is when I bring it all out.

I used to have what you would call omfy stuff but I prioritized mobility over everything. I like to move to a new city every year, of course I dont move too far because my current job is the highest paying job I've ever had so I keep it to under a 1 hour drive .

The large space is because I always wanted a large apartment after only having studios but it's not a good fit.
The struggle of moving furniture and my larger 75 gallon aquarium solo turned me off of decorations and furnishings. Now it's basically I live being mindful that I want everything I own to fit in my car for one trip when it's time to move again.

It looks super similar in layout to an apartment I was in maybe 4 or 5 years ago in Brooklyn, and one that I later saw pop up on craigslist when I was looking for a new place 2 years ago. So if by "near nyc but not in the city." you mean Brooklyn, then it's probably that place. But if you're further out, then it's more likely a coincidence that it looks so similar.

I dunno. That was just Brooklyn. The only reason people were ever able to do that anyway was because Williamsburg was a shithole. Same kind of setup economically as Soho back in the 80s. Run down, industrial space that a bunch of crazy artists bummed around in, building out and colonizing, essentially. I don't know where that could happen next since NYC just passed a lot of legislature that better defined livable spaces and differentiated them from industrial spaces. Glare is more of an issue if the screen's facing the window.
However, I would setup on the wall adjacent to the window and attach heavy curtains/blinds. It's a small room and leaving the window clear will make it look a lot less cluttered. You're also gonna collect a lot of dust in the window sill area if it's covered by your desks, and you know you aren't going to dust that shit every week.

I painted the walls green on a whim one weekend. The door is sort of the same story - noticed it used to be brown many eons ago, so I tried to remove the white paint until i noticed the paint underneath is in bad condition.

tl;dr Do I fix the white paint? Should I get rid of the carpet? The floorboards underneath are varnished but need a little TLC - nothing I couldn't handle in a weekend or two

Is buying a studio apartment a bad idea? I realize at 25 I want to be alone and decided to buy a 50M2 studio apartment located in one of the most expensive areas of my country, surrounded by big skycrappers and all that shit.

The project is still under construction. I realize this is a bad idea if I eventually get a GF and decide to start a family. Also I pre-bought the apartment because it was affordable to me, the prices have skyyrocketed 20% so I technically made a smart choice buying something before my government fucked everyone. I would say no, that diffuser is an awkward unresolved shape. I would rather look into original anglepoise floor lamps, (the base is interchangeable and can switch to desk lamp if you want).

pic is the 1228, but I'm more partial to the 1227 mini versions. Also, if you have a lot of blue/green might be better to get something neutral, having too much "accents" can dull the whole imo.

I own one of the 1227 minis and the lamp is secured with a screw at the base, which is very stable and a lot heavier than it looks. The Watson looks like a clear an homage to the 1227, but that full-body tilt is not very practical. Definitely a two-hand balancing act to prevent the stem from bending out too much.

Can you upload a pic of the space you want to place the lamp in? Is it for a lounge chair, area, or an accent? Context and price range would help me to give you some suggestions.

If you like industrial style lamps + can go for a higher price point, I would recommend the Toio (by my favorite lighting designer, Achille Castiglioni) for flos.

Anyway, this is what I have at the moment. It's not much. I'm renting the house off of my grandfather's estate and I've mostly cobbled together the furnishings out of what was in the shed. I don't want to buy too much as I'll probably move internationally for work in a couple of years so I'm mostly trying to work with what's here already, but I want a better lamp for reading and some rugs.

Budget is probably about 300USD for the lamp.

So I think you're focusing in the wrong direction. I would ditch the blue/green thing you're going for you. It really clashes with the rest of the space. Get rid of the throw on the chair and I would get something like a sheepskin or maybe a Pendleton blanket folded over the back/head rest area. Paint the border of the frame black or sand it out, that green is too much.

With that price point I would still go for an Anglepoise or this RBW floor lamp from DWR (~$350, but they regularly have sales for 15% off if you wait) .For rugs, I would get something more of neutral tone with a contrasting texture like a rattan rug (you can find one at Ikea or etsy etc easily). Since you don't have a lot of furniture a large-ish round rattan that would cover the front legs + coffee table might be good too.

Thing about the chairs is that while comfy the cushions are integral, have no separate covers, and the fabric is hideous and faded. Whatever I put on them has to be big enough to cover the fabric. I could use a smaller blanket though, what Pendleton pattern would you think?

I'm not going to touch the painting, the frame is integral, and the artist is now deceased. The moderate financial value it holds (though I doubt it would reach what it had been valued at prior to the retrospective exhibition should I try and sell it) would be ruined. I can swap it out for other works, I've got a heap of stuff waiting to be framed, it was just the largest painting I had ready to hang.

Really any Pendleton blanket you like would be fine imo. I would also look into Navajo blankets. If you want something more subtle maybe a herringbone pattern throw, (Avoca is an Irish brand that makes thick wool throws. Pricey but top quality).
