Reposting, but thanks for the starting place last thread i was just looking for something a bit more specific

So what should i be aiming to get in terms of footwear? Not necessarily just /tip/ but I'm trying to get a better adult footwear collection. I just feel like i have nothing to wear in between super casual and higher end. Here's what i have

I copped two vineyard vines pullovers, one grey and one red. I'm considering some Patagonia pullover or something similar to Jpress shaggy dogs. I dress mostly prep, but I'm not so prepared for winter. Should I just get some dark wash jeans and duckboots for winter and fall? Any shoes, pants, or anything else I could pull off without looking autistic? Recommendations for a younger guy.

For most shoes you have got to go with Alden. They're the best quality and until recently have been supplying brooks with footwear. Absolute preppy staple. Go sebago, quoddy or rancourt for boat shoes and very casual penny loafers. Try to avoid Sperry if you're concerned about quality as they've really declined in quality in recent years. Same goes for florsheim, bass weejuns and to a lesser extent Allen Edmonds. I have some bass but only as beater shoe I can throw on before popping out to the shops.

Ask in the boot thread or r/Goodyear or bootfag general welt for boot recommendations (apart from the ubiquitous llbean duck boot).

I'm afraid that's as much advice I can give. I don't live in the states anymore. I know a lot more about European brands but I wouldn't recommend importing any. Wouldn't be worth it. If you are interested go to pediware or herring shoes for a good selection of brands. English style shoes are the best and closest to the tip ideal imo due to the rounder toe boxes and tip stylings.
