I have insanely thick hair and don't know what to do about it. It's just a medium lengh right side part right now which is kinda boring but works. If I cut it short it looks retarded because the short hairs don't fall don't at all tower up on each other. If I grow it out it's way too thick and towery by the point it's long enough to fall down. Are there any products or haircut tricks that would help to make my hair thinner and fall down like pic related a bit?

To show how thick my hair is; I can't do any slick back hairstyle like in the pic, it just doesnt work. If I get it to stay back it's like 4 inches high on top and I look like a retard.

They’re not too thick, they’re too thin, thick hair are like asian’s, they have so much weight, they fall straight down.
I have the same problem, you need to make them heavier, i use coco oil and pento to do that, you can also go nopoo

Relatable!

I've always wanted cool "piecey" hair, but with thick/coarse hair like mine, it holds itself up at lengths that hang down for other people.

The cure is grow it 10-20% longer than you see in the desired style and then use argan oil to add weight and gather the hair into pieces.

>>14664852
Hm, I might try out that oil thing. I've noticed that it falls down better and looks "piecey" when you haven't shampooed it for a day or two but it often looks greasy at that point. Does the oil make it greasy too or just adds weight? Also have you ever tried a leave in conditioner? I've heard they could work

Yeah, I like the oil better than leave-in, but I've done both. I wouldn't worry about it looking greasy or oily, as long at the rest of your hygiene is tight. I mean, Leo's hair in the OP is oily as fuck, but no one would use that word.

It'll look shinier, heavier, healthier, and piecier. Thought once you pass the awkward length, you'll be tempted to keep going.

Try hair clay. That’s been the best product for me to get that texturized, “piece-y” style.

I've had the exact same problem where it "bunches" and fucks up traditional white ppl hairstyles with extra thickness, you probably need a new hair routine. Try to shampoo only once a week or so, and use a oil conditioner/repair like argon or cocunt once a week. Mine is especially course so I ususal massage in a bit of leave-in or coconut oil while my hair is wet for styling.

Seriously, buy products from the salon or beauty supply store. Spending that much on shampoo sounds crazy when you've used suave or pert or what the fuck ever, but for fucking real. 20-40 dollar shampoo is like everything else. You pay for quality.

Thanks. So you mean higher quality shampoo and conditioner I guess, can you recommend some brands? I use stuff that doesn't add much volume and doesn't dry my hair out but it's not really expensive desu. Should I buy products barbershops use? Also how do I style my hair correctly?

>>14666663
Makes sense, I'll try that too

>>14666770
Every barber I've been to tells me I have thick hair (which is basically just more single hairs than usual).

Stop projecting lol. I've always had a relatively high hairline but never had problems with hair falling out and no one in my family ever went bald

Look into razor texture cuts or bending shears. See if your barber has any experience with em. Basically what they do it remove some of the "bulk"/volume where your hair is very thick.

My hair is also thick as fuck.
So much falls out naturally on a daily basis, so I just shave my head every week or so because it saves having to hoover every other day.
