Ok so i know Van Cleef and Arpels' Midnight in Paris scent has been discontinued for a while but what are some other fragrances similar to MiP and/or what are some other fragrances you'd recommend based on the fact that I like MiP (i.e doesnt have to be very similar, necessarily, just something you'd think i'd like)

I'm looking for a daily fragrance that is reasonably priced for winter and has a more warm inviting smell maybe something spicy or floral. Is there a scent that also works well with sweat cause I do physical work and one man show is one that works very well with the heat. I use this and I don't think it's a meme or understand all the hate for it.

Tried sauvage parfum today. It's 85-90% EDP with a little more creamy sweetness to it. Dry down was identical to the same ambroxan bomb as the other two. Its a meme dont waste your money. All the ambroxan bombs are the same I am so tired of this trend. I stand by saying BDC EDP is the best of the "blue". I like sauvage less every time I try it but I guess its just my palette becoming more refined from a lot of niche I have been smelling.

NASOMATTO BARAONDA= BASED. I put it on for the first time last night. Blind bought a bottle. So fucking good. Boozy, woody, and spicy this is a killer date night social fun outing frag. The booze has whiskey and wine nuances. 2 unsolicited compliments. Actual frag enthusiasts know compliments are rare and two in one wear you know is some good juice. Really good stuff stoked I bought it

way easier to start browsing fragrances online after even the slightest introduction irl. you'll pick up on it right away.

To me, MiP smelled like a better Bvlgari Black. Take the slight leather note in MiP, replace it with an intense rubber, and you have Black. You might enjoy it.

Ah. I believe Belgium is cheaper than The Netherlands as far as mongering goes. I know the red light district in Antwerp in quite a bit cheaper than De Wallen. Never been myself, but I have a buddy that goes there regularly.

Also consider: I don’t speak Dutch, so navigating the smaller classifieds sites is basically impossible for me. I can use google translate, but it’s obviously not perfect, and details matter in this sort of thing. Thus, kind of stuck using agencies, and thus I only go with the agencies I know are reputable.

I do have a lady back home I see who gives me a preferred client rate of 150.00/hr. Been seeing her for a while, though, her normal rates are double that.

I got a sample of this, sprayed it on a strip and kinda liked it so ended up ordering a bottle as it was cheap. I've just sprayed the sample on my skin for the first time, been wearing it for maybe 10 minutes and fuck it's way weirder than I thought. Still get a very strong alcohol smell, way longer than any of my other frags, or at least if it's not alcohol then it's something quite disinfectant-ish and jarring. How long does this take to settle down? Should it even smell like this, is it possible I got a bad/old sample?

Trying out this bad boy from my FM sample set. Wow. The first 20 minutes it was too sweet for me to actually enjoy it, it felt like more of a feminine frag. But after you let it dry off for a bit, the warmer tones start to come through, the spiciness, the amber and musk. It's a fall scent alright, geared more towards nighttime.

I wasn't expecting it to smell so modern, even moreso than Cool Water. It's a fresh fougere that's definitely inspired by CW but it doesn't smell like it. It smells like Versace Eau Fraiche or Ferragamo Uomo Casual, but with an outdoorsy, pine sort of smell. You could also say it smells like Axe Orion, which I immediately thought of when I sprayed it on. It's really good stuff, not just for the price but in general. Could easily go head to toe with any modern fresh mass appealing frag.

If you're considering Sauvage YSL Y or something ridiculously expensive, maybe look into Aqua Quorum first. It's doing the same thing but for way cheaper and directly from the manufacturers themselves (Puig).

It's the medicinal facet of (synthetic) oud and I love Black Aoud the way it is. Tried Dior's Oud Ispahan, Diptyque's Oud Palao and many other Oud+Rose combos and I like Montale most. It's most masculine out of all the stuff I tried even if coming as having sharp edges.

Anyone know what’s going on with Kilian Straight to Heaven Extreme? It’s sold out everywhere, if they even stock it, even on the official site. Basenotes seems to indicate it’s still in production, but no one has it, just the original. I even emailed Kilian to ask, but never heard back.

I want a bottle, but the original is pretty weak and lasts like 2 hours. Extreme is much better, but I can’t fucking find it. Anyone know if it’s dicontinued, or what the fuck’s going on?

To be honest I got plenty of unsolicited compliments on my Black Aoud. Are you sure you didn’t overspray? Two sprays is absolute maximum for this fragrance. Moreover smelling a fragrance close up to the skin doesn’t really give you an idea how it smells to others. Not trying to defend it because to each their own but I really find it a good fragrance. I felt the same way. I'm one of these unfortunate cases of people whose skin eats fragrance. I get 4-6h if lucky with fragrances that others describe as beast mode and virtually all of them become meek skin scents after this point anyway. That's why I gave up on wearing anything niche in Spring and Summer whatsoever - I just use cheapies like Carven L'Eau Intense or Bright Neroli. It's a kind of light, woody/floral scent in the dry down. I can't point out the notes well, because I don't have the developed nose for it, but it's pretty pleasant overall. The lavendar opening might remind you of a cleaning product if you put it right under your nose, but I'm not getting a a rotten stench.

This was on a card. I'll get back to you on how it goes on my skin. I'm sitting at a 6/10 right now. It's alright.

Are you me? Blind bought Kouros after getting disappointed trying a few new men's releases after about 2 years of not paying attention at the perfume world. The final straw was one armani that had great reviews everywhere and ended being literally 95% (or more) of an old 1million flanker I had years ago, which of course had it much worse.
I love it. Sadly it's much more "civilised" than I was expecting and the performance isn't nuclear as everyone describes it. On fragrantica there's some saying the 2019 reform is stronger than the previous years so I'm in the lookout for trying that one in the stores.
