To the anons in the last thread:

Rive Gauche is pretty similar to Azzaro but honestly a bit closer to the far drydown of Drakkar Noir. It’s much more crisp and “hi-fi” than Azzaro, and a bit cleaner and mass appealing. It definitely draws people in and gets compliments.

Like I said, Pino has good performance but if your nose has been destroyed by heavy ambroxan chemical scents like Sauvage or Eros, you’re going to think it’s weak. I get 8 hours total out of it, with an hour of pretty good strength. You gotta keep in mind it’s a legitimate Italian barbershop scent dating back to the 1950s, not a fuccboi mall scent. It’s designed to spray on after a shave and haircut, not to go out clubbing all night.

>> No.14646611

I prefer the EDP, EDT smells stale and metallic to my nose. I have to severely overspray to get anything out of it though, the sprayer (on my bottle at least) has a very conservative output.

If you come from prep/trad/ivy and just want just to larp then go for something like classic Polo scents

If you want upper middle-class scents then for UK these would be Floris, Trumpers, (classic) Penhaligons; for Italy Profumum Roma (albeit it's becoming more and more nouveau riche and Acqua di Parma; for France classic Guerlains; Germany: no one cares about Germany. In general from my experience most of niche fragrances are mostly for (aspiring) middle class.

The most important thing to wear a fragrance with is confidence.

You can wear anything any time if you’re sensible. You can wear Tuscan Leather in the summer if you want, but only when it’s cool. Basic physics and chemistry will tell you that the hotter a fragrance is the more it smells, but if it’s a cool summer night that doesn’t mean you can wear a “winter” fragrance because it’s summer. Know the fragrance and use common sense. The only people that really care about that are turbonerds. 99.9% of the population don’t know or care about fragrances. They’ll simply notice a nice smell, they won’t think “I can’t believe he’s wearing that after 6pm, that’s much more of a daytime scent”. Ridiculous. Wear whatever, whenever, just don’t come hear complaining you had a building evacuated because you wore too much Kouros to work on the day the air conditioning broke.

It’s interesting how different scents can be to different people. I get a ton of patchouli and spices, doesn’t smell caramel-y to me at all. I get very fresh, smooth vanilla, patchouli, and spice.

To be fair, no one was comparing it to Kouros, it was just mentioned once in a pasta, then dipshits started calling it “the mother”. It really has nothing at all to do with Kouros other than both being YSL frags.

I get you, though. It is quite mass appealing as niche goes. I don’t find it generic, I think it does it’s own thing, personally, never smelled anything else quite like it. If you’re looking for something more unusual, though, then yeah, it’s probably not what you’re looking for.

It’s nice, but not for me. Just generally don’t love floral-heavy scents, especially white florals. If you like that kind of frag, though, it’s a very good one. I think it gets overshadowed by Tam Dao and Philosykos, which is why you don’t hear about it much here.

Don't agree with the people trying to claim it's wearable throughout spring and on temperate summer days though. It'd just feel like an absolute mismatch, even as a night fragrance.

On the other replicas: I though barber shop was shit, and thought by the fireplace was waaaaaay too sweet on first smell. Seconding CdG Kyoto and Aesop Hwyl. Problem with Hwyl is that it's more of an eteric oil than perfume. People with allergies will not appreciate.

Aside from the ones mentioned I'd suggest also By Kilian Light My Fire. It's slightly different, but gives you the feeling of being away from people, near a neat fireplace and dark forest around you.
Another option is CdG Zagorsk. The performance is not great after just 1 hour tho.

Oddly enough I didn't like CdG Sugi and CdG Hinoki all that much. Felt too artificial for some reason.

I'm trying out Monsieur right now, really enjoying it. It's a very manly scent, musky, boozy and a little bit sweet (not too much though), I could totally see myself wearing this in the fall/winter for a laid-back evening. It feels confident and not try-hard-ish. I don't think I'd go with this for a first date though, because it lacks some boldness and raw sex appeal. We'll see how it does on performance/longevity.

I also tried out Geranium Pour Monsier yesterday, not impressed at all. It just smells very minty, and it simply reminded me of toothpaste. Didn't get a lot of depth or layers, just mint. Of course, since I have the samples, I'll keep trying it out, maybe I need to learn to get into it.

I smelled Ultra Male for the first time yesterday and was blown away by how strong the bubblegum scent is, I found it settles down to something quite similar to Le Male after a little while but it's still much sweeter. I've seen people in these threads saying that they prefer UM to LM, could anyone tell me which one they prefer and why?

Also (genuine Eros question no civets pls) I haven't tried Eros, where would you say it stands in comparison to other sweet frags (Le Male/Ultra Male, One Million etc)? If you had to pick one which would it be?

Ultra Male isn’t a fragrance that suits my personality, but I love it. I much prefer it to Le Male, but LM is still good, it just doesn’t smell as unique as UM.

One Million is dogshit. Far too strong and cloying.

Eros is divisive. It performs well and doesn’t have a bad scent, but it’s the kind of thing that can give you headaches.

Of the ones you mentioned I thing UM is the best just because that sweetness seems more “rounded” and much softer and I never get tired of it.

Yo. Depends on your budget. Personally, I only go high-end with escorts. The cheaper sites and classifieds sites are full of scammers, bait and switch, etc.

Personally, I use Society Service (societyservice.com). They’re pricey, the minimum booking is €700 for 2 hours, but they’re very worth it. They have some truly stunning, sophisticated women. They don’t hire Eastern European girls, only Dutch and very occasionally other nationalities, so you’re not getting the rushed, mechanical, rip-off kind of service. They’re 100% a real GFE agency.

As far as independent girls, there’s Dita (ditavip.com). She’s a former pornstar, deepthroat like an absolute champ, anal is included in her standard rate, absolutely great for sportfucking if that’s what you’re into. Haven’t seen her for a few years, though, so I don’t know how she is nowadays. She’s also gotten into bodybuilding the last couple years, so if you’re into muscular women, she’d be a good pick.
