Why do you need to try stuff on in person?

Very easy to return with most online retailers, including Brooks Brothers.

If you have no idea whatsoever of your size then maybe go to a Macys/closest store that sells mens clothes to get measurements. Neck, arms, chest most important. Once you know these it is easy to ballpark sizes online and you may not have to return them.

FWIW I've found Spier & Mackay to have some of the best OCBDs outside of the top price range. They have nice material and long collars, for that perfect roll.

Most brands OCBDs should probably be avoided, either too expensive, material too thin/lifeless, and most notably too short collars. Stay away from those brands for OCBDs, key piece and easy to get wrong.

That said I also like Uniqlos OCBDs to use a layering option under sweaters, mostly because they are quite cheap and above average quality (but too short collars). Never wear them either with a tie or outside of a sweater.

>>14639875
>material too thin
This is not bad for those warmer months of the year. Having a thinner OCBD feels great many times

>too short collars
This isnt bad if you use them for layering under sweaters, they harm/stretch less the neck of your sweaters

>> No.14639890

>>14639885
Forgot to reply the first question. Even if returns are easy, they are a hassle which you dont have to do if you try them on at the shop. In person you can check all the details of the shirt, the fit it has and also many more options available there, plus you save the shipping cost.

Better to try in person if you have the chance

You dont have to be an actual WASP elite to dress preppy. JFK was a Catholic, but noone calls him a LARPer. There was a point in history were practically all middle class Americans dressed basically like this. Wearing timeless, respectable clothing is not a LARP. You do not have to sail to dress prep. JPress is the original. You can find other providers down here, its from OP's link:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHAGGY DOG
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These sweaters were originally made by JPress in the US, by brushing a shetland sweater with cardoons. JPress shaggy dogs and their collabs with other brands suck as Rowing Blazers, are always above 200$ and when you include shipping and tariffs, you are close to the 300€. You can obtain this soft sweaters for cheaper in the EU.

Shetland Woolen Co: brand from Scotland, has a big variety for around 100-125€, you can find them on sale easily for around 70€, available through this stockists:
-Northern Fells (https://www.northern-fells.com/collections/shetland-woollen-co))
-Idleman (https://theidleman.com/collections/shetland-woollen-co))
-AlwaysinColour (https://alwaysincolour.com/collections/shetland-woollen-co))

Harley of Scotland: available through Bosie for around 110€, some other retailers might have some shaggy style sweaters, but it is not common:
-Bosie (https://www.bosie.co/january-stock-sale/harley-of-scotland-shetland-1-z6dzn-bfw8e))
-Hansen's Clothing (https://hansensclothing.com/sweaters/?_bc_fsnf=1&brand=214))

Howlin: They make sometimes brushed shaggy dogs under the name "shaggy bear" for around 125€.
-Morrison website (https://www.morrison.be/categories/shaggy-bear.html))

Last of England: They have a couple colours available for 125€:
-Last of England website (https://lastofengland.co.uk/shop/))

In Rakuten you can also find others made by brands that seem to operate in the japanese market such as James Charlotte and Peter Blance. You can find the first 2 brands listed too.

I unironically like the clothes from this meme but I’m not sure if it’s prep, out of any “style” I’ve seen, I love this the most, almost the second I saw it but the academia OP pic. It just seems difficult to find the items outside of the US and more importantly, would feel like a huge LARP because I’m in the middle of a shithole UK city and it’s sweatpants everywhere.

I wonder how I’d take away some of the LARP from academia/trad whilst still incorporating elements of it.

Obviously I can just not care about it because I don’t a whole lot but it doesn’t change the fact that you will be looked at and treated like you’re wearing a costume.

For the price the quality is quite good. I think the brand is perfect for "fillers", I mean, lets say you dont want to spend much on tassel loafers because you are probably going to wear them little or you have risk of ruining them. This brand gives you a perfect shoe for those situations.

Could barely understand half the employees because english was not their first language.

Don't listen to him. While prep itself is specifically a new-englander cultural phenomenon, there are very similar trends in southern europe that would fit you fine. Just look at Italian and Spanish fashion.
However, as others have said, your beard doesn't have enough density in order for you to pull off a prep-ish style with it. You could also try experimenting with your hair. A side-part of some degree will immediately make you look more formal.

In that case just wear English trad, seriously. Your friends will give you shit for being posh but ignore them, that's crab bucket shit.

Also, in English a "jewel tone" normally means a transparent/translucent color on something like a doorknob or other hard, potentially see-though object, so most of us have no idea what you mean by that in the context of clothes.

Oh, I know who he is, I just didn't know what you mean. Yeah I do have sleepy/Squinty tumblr eyes desu, I think they suit my face though.

And I speak Perfect English lol, it's just I've heard people use the term "jewel tone" contextually to literally refer to hues which are similar to that of jewels and typically fairly deep and saturated, such as citrine and amethyst. People with high contrast dark features (Basically all the typical meds) usually benefit from them.

I actually linked them up to some of the fits ITT and I got replies like "fashion has always been expensive and typically for higher classes and you'd need a professional shopper to choose these for you/it's overly elaborate and makes you look like a nonce/If I saw a guy wearing this at a party I'd think he's a tryhard" and a couple people saying contextually these fits look good but in most settings you'd look like a cunt.

What do you mean by English trad, exactly? I'm worried I'll look fedora as fuck. Can it be pulled off for a reasonable normie wagie budget if I have a smaller, more selective wardrobe?
