So I just started a Fine Art graduate program and went to a party with other students last weekend. Practically every person there was smoking cigarettes all night long. Two Latina (Dominican and Colombian) grad students shared a tiny joint at the beginning of the night, but that was it for weed. People were dressed in either all black, or boomer core mid 2000s shit like hoodies, jeans, sneakers. Most people I know smoke both so it doesn't really register on the cool/uncool spectrum for me. I'm trying to quit smoking cigarettes, and I rarely smoke pot anymore (anxiety).
Smoking a hand-rolled joint is by far the most stylish way to smoke pot though. Pre-rolls are weak, bongs are tryhard, and pipes are pretty neutral.
Cigarettes are the most social way to smoke tobacco.

If you're going for substance abuse as a necesity to socialise, alcohol is the best option if you only do one. The only way I could describe smoking as social is that it gives you an excuse to hang around outside with other smokers you're interested in chatting to.
