I don't draw as much as I used to, I would say maybe 2-6 hours a day (plus I'm an animator so when I'm animating it's like 8+hrs). Yeah I'd say Loomis is a meme unless your an absolute beginner. I thing it's a great intro into helping your brain understanding how to make 3d shapes on 2d paper, but you should move on from Loomis pretty fast and not take his word like the Bible. I'd say "drawing on the right side of your brain" and some books by Hampton are better intermediate books

I think I got it at the container store, ikea isn't really close to where I live in nyc. I had the same problem, I was looking forever for a desk like this, its like 24" wide and 53"long and wood/fake wood.

if you do get this specific desk, I would advise not putting too many heavy things on it, I just started to notice some minor bowing in the middle after about a year of use, probably gonna look for a real wood desk when I move.

The monitor arm is a north bayou, its really cheap on amazon, just look up north bayou desk arm and you'll find a bunch of variants

Reflections off the glass will shape the overall sound, adding a comb filtering effect that sounds like shit. In general, you want your speakers de-coupled from your desk and far away enough from any hard reflective surfaces that the music isn't immediately bouncing off the hard surface before it gets to your ears. There's a reason why recording studios are covered in foam and carpet

Honestly just clean up a bit before expecting any good advice. Pick the wires up off the floor, clear the tables so they're usable surfaces. Put a curtain rod in that closet if it doesn't have a door. Hang that japanese banner thing on a wall instead of from a laundry basket. That blanket is awesome, you could hang that somewhere too like a tapestry. Switch that shitty rigid plastic chair with the bean bag in the other room. If you can put curtains over the windows. Get a shoe rack or make a cheap one with some cinder blocks and planks. Hide that lego box. Throw out the white board. If you can afford it get a better bed stand that hides the box spring. You could also use a bigger bedstand, or another place to store stuff. The biggest problem here is you have too much shit and no storage. Once that's all done just embrace the shitty/comfy aesthetic, get some cheap wall art (if you're going stereotypical get the japanese wave poster). Get some colored lighting.

You don't need a bigger coffee table honestly, its one of the most passable parts of the apartment. You need storage. Plants are a good idea too.

also the small monitor is actually a drawing tablet, specifically a cintiq 13" hd. It's very good, but I wish I would have balled out and waited for the next gen 16" because 13" is just a little too small for most work I do.

Casio Privia PX-730, picked it up used a couple of years ago for $400. If you take the time to adjust the echo and reverb a bit to take off the digital samples' edge, it has a passable sound from its housed speakers. The action is quite light though the floor is kind-of soft for my liking and doesn't have the bounce of a proper piano. Untextured key finish makes me miss the ivory keys of my parents' upright.

I unironically was living like this (minus a TV or XBox) for 6 months when I was spending a semester abroad.
