I was born in '89. The smell of Cool Water mixed with cigarettes is the smell of my childhood. Every man in my family, every dad of my friends wore Cool Water. I got a bottle for christmas last year. I'm in love with it too, and own it but find it really difficult to find a setting to wear because how how fucking loud it is. If you like it but would like something more affordable, Rose Anonyme by Atelier is very similar but without the loud projection. It's really nice for summer evenings and in some ways prefer it to Noir de Noir because of how more casual it is.

Tried Sauvage EDT and EDP over the last two days.

EDT seems much nicer. I think the EDP is nice after a few hours, but the opening is too harsh. EDT is almost seems calming to me. I do t know what the note is but I’m guessing it’s the ambroxan because I’m not familiar with it. I assume a large amount of the hate for it comes from the ubiquity but I don’t really get it.

That’s what I’ve been saying for ages. Fragrances are not common. And if they are, most people fall in to two categories. Horrendous oversprayers or pointless undersprayers. You don’t notice them in the UK at all. In all the pubs, bars, and restaurants I’ve been in I don’t think “Everybody’s wearing Sauvage” I think “oh shit, somebody is actually wearing an aftershave”.

It’s very snice, reminds me of this restaurant in Vegas I always eat at, they make a drink that’s basically a margarita dumped into a pina colada. VIW smells like that drink. Sweet, boozy lime and coconut with a little wood, aquatic notes. and some florals.

That said, longevity isn’t fantastic, and while snice, it smells like something you’d get at Bath and Body Works. Not worth Creed prices imo. I got a 30ml decant cheap, otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it.

I have Rasasi Hawas, which is like 70% Invictus Aqua and 30% Sauvage. It has gnarly projection, and smells like clean linen with a very sweet overtone that is not out of place. Would recommend.

There's not much neroli in bright neroli.

Im 25. I have decants of antaeus and korous. I actually really like antaeus but I think it and korous are too mature of scents, but I can come back to them in a few years. If you are buying Eros I am going to assume you are under 30. The One is 100x better than Man in Black for a younger guy. The One EDP is unironically the best mainstream designer scent.
