I totally agree that he's a money maker. I just don't see the male fan base sticking around if he leaves, and I don't see him selling a ton of women's clothing while he's there. He's never been especially good at designing for women.

Hedi is like a phantom fashion house. He might inhabit different houses, but it's alway brand Hedi. Then he leaves soon enough that he doesn't get the blame when the house gets stale, but he waits long enough to do something new that people forget it's gonna be the same thing.

He's a genius marketer, but I'm not convinced he's a long term good for a house, since he's unwilling to see a brand through ups and downs over many years. I think LVMH knows this, so they they gave him a smaller yet respected house (Celine) as a sacrificial lamb. At this point in his career he wants full creative control oh a house, and they're not gonna give him more than just the Mens of their larger brands just to watch him leave in 4 or 5 years and disrupt their hugely lucrative womens lines.
