Update: I’ve been wearing Jerememe’s frag for a few hours now. Now I’m getting what smells like a lot of vetiver, which is odd, since there isn’t any vetiver in it. Maybe I’m smelling the “intense modern wood”. Not getting any patchouli or pink pepper. The citrus is still going strong,

used to mean the concentration of oils, chems and other fragrance ingredients vs alcohol. EDT had a higher alcohol content than EDP, which caused it to evaporate faster. This would cause EDT have more projection and sillage but less longevity.

Nowadays it doesn't mean shit, companies use whatever names & classifications they think will make a product sell.

kouros sat silently and then suddenly spoke: "douse". i followed orders and sprayed my neck twice. a sonoran desert toad croaked on the windowsill. "how'd you get here, bud?", i said. "eat it.", said kouros. i followed orders. i fell to my back, the ceiling tore asunder and slategray specks began to rain into my room. "they seek a new beginning.", said kouros. "they are seedstars, coming to unpack themselves. do not be afraid. come, and douse". i sprayed my wrists. "what do they want?", i ask. "they are post-larval. they've been here before, their mission is unknown." "they've been here you know?", kouros emphasized. "they've lived in rustic houses, around the rolling green hills and under the amber sun, sitting just above the horizon. these ancestors have vast tracks of land and have lived a life much like your own but sweeter and without pain. can you feel it?" i woke suddenly in my room drenched in sweat. "a bad dream is all.", i said to myself. i looked over and kouros was sitting silently on my dresser. i got up, opened the window and grabbed kouros about to lob it out. mid-heave i heard a hum and the bottle vibrated softly in my hand. that hum again, coming from the atomizer. i pressed it against my ear. "civilize the mind.", said kouros. "and make savage the body." before my eyes the bottle spun into a warm flare and vanished into a thin thread of white smoke.

These are 3 completely different frags. Kouros has nuclear performance (I think the only ones that outperform it that I’ve encountered are Black Aoud and Les Liquides Imaginaires Fortis) and I wear it after trainings in winter and autumn or sometimes on a cold evening out. Wouldn’t recommend it for spring summer tbf - it can get cloying. Eau Sauvage performs well - I get around 3h of projection and 6h in total and it’s better suited for warmer days. That’s my informal suit/dinner scent. L’Homme performs worst out of the 3 but I like it that way - it’s my frag of choice when I need a safe crowd pleasing fragrance, I usually wear it for formal meetings or when I’m travelling on a plane. It’s a perfect summer/spring fragrance.

Vert D'Encens: One of my favorites surprised it isnt talked about more. Woody, piney, incense. Based, im buying a bottle tonight. Such a unique scent. ...
Oud Wood: Very nice, pitiful projection. Would buy if it wasnt a whisper...
Tobacco Oud: Loved it, would cop come winter...
Tobacco Oud Intense: LOVED. A little younger and brighter than TO. Would take this over TO but both are great...
Neroli Portofino: Best warm weather TF hands down.
Tuscan Leather: Less sharp than ombre with a rasberry note. Honestly save a ton of money an get ombre because they are 90% similar...
Tobacco Vanille: Loved. All the Tobacco frags are great, would buy them all if I had that money.
Beau De Jour: Lots of hype but was very unimpressed. Lavender bomb with moss.
Oud Minerale: Interesting take on a salty marine scent. The seaweed note is innovate and to my nose pleasant and fresh...
Lavender Extreme: Lavender bomb, shit.

Yeah, spraying it on card is for plebs sampling top note heavy designer dreck in malls. Dior Homme is a much more complex frag than most you can find in a mall or department store, and you should really try it on your skin instead of on paper to be able to smell all of the accords.

With that being said, I'm not the biggest Dior Homme fan. Try pic related the next time you're sampling, IMO it's the best Dior frag ever.

They’re just being snobs and/or trying to impress the kool kids. Nothing wrong with any of your stuff, really. Might want to diversify a bit into some higher-end stuff, but what you have is all perfectly serviceable.

Take everything people here say with a grain of salt. These threads usually have a lot of good info, but it’s still 4chan, so there are still lots of low IQ kiddies who just like to shitpost and parrot whatever they think the “cool” opinions are. Guaranteed half the people who post about how amazing and manly Kouros is, for example, have never smelled the stuff and are just trying to fit in (not that there’s anything at all wrong with Kouros, mind you).

>> No.14311239

Not true. If we were snobs, we wouldn't have said to keep any of those designer fragrances in the image. Eau Sauvage is a timeless, sophisticated and elegant masterpiece that can be had for an extremely affordable price. The other fragrances in that image smell low-quality by comparison. They may be "serviceable", but most people in this thread consider fragrance an art form, and so would favor quality over popular reception.

No, YOU consider fragrance an art form. You’re entitled to your opinion, but don’t presume to speak for everyone. Everyone here views fragrances differently. For some, it’s a hobby, they collect, and they primarily look for fragrances they find interesting (I’m in this category). Some people just want something girls will like. Some people just want something to compliment their wardrobe. Some people want something for da clubs. It’s all good. No one way is better than any other.

You’re speaking as if your opinion is objective truth, which is what far too many people on this site do, and it’s not conducive to encouraging conversation. Give your opinion, don’t say that he’s a pleb and everyone thinks his collection is shit. That’s not helpful.

That’s a tough one. Best bet would be to look up frags you know she likes on fragrantica, then look at similar frags, or use fragrantica’s search by notes function to find frags with similar notes. Even then, though, it’s a bit of a gamble. I’ve bought my mother 4 frags, 2 she loved, one she likes but very rarely wears, and one was a complete miss and is now in my collection.

It’s just generally very difficult to buy frags for another person, even if you know them very well.

Quit smoking, three weeks in and I can smell my frags more clearly. Nothing too dramatic, but it's at least a 15-20% improvement in how long I can detect them.

For anyone looking for some good warm weather frags that don't get talked about as much:

Hermes Voyage EDP. Not the EDT, it sucks. Amazing blend of cardamom, floral, tea, citrus and light musk. Truly unisex, smells exotic like almost nothing else on the market with except some of the Jardin series, also from Hermes. Fantastic longevity too.

YSL Live Jazz. Discontinued but a great mint and Ambergris scent, handles heat and humidity like a champ. Feels a bit more classic/mature, I'm an oldfag so I like it but might not be the best choice for 18-22.

Carven L'eau Intense. A hidden gem, great MFK scent and dirt cheap to boot. Mint, citrus, cedar a surprisingly strong laundry musk. Smells like laundry drying in a citrus orchard.

Acqua Di Parma Colonia Ambra. This will be polarizing , it's an aquatic in the sense that it smells like a ship on the ocean, not the water itself. Smells like old wood polished with orange oil, a sharp turpentine like cypriol note, dried vanilla pods and Ambergris. Not ambroxan, this smells more natural even though it isn't. Some people say it smells like old paintings, that's the oil+wood combo but to me it smells like an old sailing ship. The vanilla note is very dry so it works even in the heat.

L'Artisan Parfumer Caligna. Most people think of Phlysokos or Jardin Mediterranee for fig scents but this is a great one too. It's not sweet, milky or heavy, it's a surprisingly green, tart and airy fig scent. It's a more mature fruity scent, works great in the summer.

Creed Royal Mayfair. The most overlooked Creed IMHO. Smells like a gin and tonic with limes, eucalyptus and the smell of a cold bouquet of roses in the fridge at a florists. Classy and refined.

Well, I wasn't a big fan of Sauvage for the reasons I already stated but I'd take that above Eros. Eros is a good sweet scent for the winter but it's really heavy, balsamic and dense, it's really heavy and potentially off putting in the heat.

Are you dead set on just wearing the Eros? I posted a few of my favorite warm weather scents a few posts up. If you like Eros check out Acqua Di Parma Colonia Ambra, it has vanilla in it as well but it's much better suited to the heat.

Regardless, why not go with something retro like Jicky, Eau Sauvage, Aramis Tuscany, Versace L'homme (vintage, easy to find on eBay), Caron Pour on Homme or Guerlain Vetiver?

There's probably a bit of rough and tumble intellectual to your look so my two choices would be Guerlain Vetiver or Versace L'homme. Current Guerlain formula is fantastic but get the vintage Versace.

His anecdotes, as annoying as I find them, end up relating back to frags somehow. He's shown his collection, reviewed his purchases, talked about what he picked up from and where.

On the other hand you are so butthurt about him you've become a recognisable character in your own right, except in all your sperging about him you fail to talk about frags more often than not. This is pretty much it. I never claimed there was anything special about what I was doing. There’s not. It’s money, like you said. Anyone could do what I do. This whole thing started because on one of my trips a few years back, I posted one comment about a frag one girl I saw was wearing, and people were interested and asked me to do reports. That’s all it is. I know it’s not for everyone, but some people do seemingly want to read my anecdotes. If you don’t, feel free to skip them.

Also pretty funny how the haters all assume I’m ugly, autistic, a manlet, etc. I don’t like to use the “muh projection” meme, because it’s basically saying “no u!”, but in this case, it’s pretty damned obvious.
