Depends a bit. Sometimes I wear wool and go slow so sweating isn’t an issue, sometimes I pack a spare shirt with me and change. The biggest thing is to not wear a backpack, that’ll make you sweat real bad. I’ve got a front rack on my commuter bike.

Whatever you do, don't get an all white bike. 2 reasons.

KHS Flite 100 is an awesome, cheap frameset. Loved mine while I had it. Also what anon above said, no cheap Chinaman hi-ten steel bikes or multi speed to fixed/SS conversions with shit chainline, etc. Generally look for a good steel track frame that's retailing above a couple hundred, ideally with a front fork drilled for a brake, as you'll want to start with one. They're a super fun sort of bike, you'll enjoy it.
