Watch some reviews on yt about parnis. They have nice quality homages. Not fakes, because they label them parnis or unlabelt if you wish.
For the price they ask you are getting a full blown rolex bracelet with solid links, diving extensions and screwed links.
Show me any other watch that has this kind of bracelet for under 150$.

No idea how the movements are but most forum posts say that they are simple and solid.

been looking into buy a tudor sub like picrel (ref 76100 with the lollipop hour hand). only problem is most have no bracelet or the shit stock bracelet.

I already called my local AD to see if they can source one from tudor (they didnt seem very entertained when I asked them about this, but said they would ask lol). I doubt thats gonna work so been looking at some alternatives.

Anybody know if the a bracelet for a 1680 rolex sub would fit well? More specifically, I was considering getting the new strapcode bracelet for that watch (https://www.strapcode.com/collections/submariner-1680/products/metal-ss-bcl20-b079).). Its a bit pricey (since I doubt its much different than their other offerings which go for much less), but Im ok with the price if it fits well.

Any help is appreciated anons.

Based, that's how it is for most of the swiss watch (((industry))). They have several big groups that bought up smaller groups that fit their product protfolio. They try to fill all the price niches and also get brands that attract different kinds of communities via marketing.
(e.g. omega and james bond fans)

It's rumored that they agree on prices to not kill eachother with competition and not get nuked by quartz or the japs again.
Those who don't want to agree on prices can be forced to. Look at ETA, they produce movements for all the companies and those who don't want to cooperate, get no discounts and have to price their watches similarly high like the ones that control the market.

Since the movement has been out of production for the past 10+ years I guess there is no real alternative besides replacing it with something else entirely but it's a fairly unusual construction and I imagine it could be hard to find something compatible.

I hate how the term "grail" is used. A grail watch, like the Holy Grail itself is supposed to be nigh-unobtainable, not just expensive, and certainly not something you can just waltz into any jeweler and buy.

A Rolex Sub is not a grail, you just can't afford it right now.
A vintage Rolex Double Red Sub Sea-Dweller is not a grail either. They're not rare. Again, you just can't afford it right now.

Terrence Young's own Rolex Sub. That's a grail. There's only one of them. No matter how much money you have, it will still be a long, laborious, expensive search that may yield nothing.

Hilarious how all of a sudden the cucky defenders came crawling out of the woodwork once redpilled people started talking about the pozzed swiss watch industry.
>but m-muh ETA
Yeah, it's called buyers remorse.
I also have one watch with the 2824-2 eta movement, got memed into it before i had any idea about the swiss. That will also be my last watch that has anything to do with the swiss.

So stop defending corps. and get back to consuming, you little hamsters. The industry must be kept running, goy!

Am I crazy for being bored silly by the Submariner?
It's just a black on steel dive watch and it's been copied by so many others that you can't even tell which is the original anymore.

I bought a 114060, but I hated the crude-looking Maxi case and Maxi dial with its cluttered text.
So I sold it and bought a 14060, which was a more elegant design, but I felt like I'd worn it for years.
So I sold it and got a 5513 and I felt nothing for it. It's sitting in the safe, unworn.

At least I haven't lost any money on this exercise.

Way to deliberately miss the point. The point is that Swatch shuttered the entire manufacturing capability of Longines after buying the brand, so the conglomerate produced ETA mall shitters with the Longines name affixed to them that the Swatch Group sells today have absolutely nothing substantively in common with the watches produced by the pre quartz revolution Longines.

Only the 2892-A2 Top Grade and above are particularly notable. The rest are pretty meh. Even then, a 2892-A2 Too Grade has neither a free sprung balance, noe the extensive hand adjustment and MEMS escapement of a Grand Seiko. It's just not technically on the same level.

Can confirm. When i found out that "handwinding of the eta 2824-2 is not recommended, rather give it about 10 turns and wear it so the automatic does the rest"

THE ACTUAL FUCK?? Why did i pay """swiss quality""" when it's worse than some soviet moevements.
>inb4 but their more expensive movements are working fine, just pay more, goy
ETA is just trash and just a fake reputation. For the prices they ask their movements should all be solid, no matter the price.
