Before some faggot starts asking about ocbds (pic related is shirtonomy).

Top gud
Mercer and Sons (Best OCBD, get it tailored if you don't want to wear a tent)
Ratio -( custom so money)
Kumakara (limited range of colours/patterns, be warned, with a tie, the roll looks like it's giving birth ) Limited selection.
Drakes - (expensive )
Spier and Mackay - (custom)
Luxire - (custom, send a shirt that already fits)
J.Press - (noice)

Medium gud
Gitman Vintage (skeleton fit, wide variety of funky prints)
Boggi - (not bad, limited selection)
Brooks Brothers (ubiquitous but quality has declined over the years. lots of non-iron bullocks)
Ralph (worse than Brooks, short length and annoying logo)

not gud
LL bean. Lands End (small collars, for Lands end get the Hyde Park must-iron)
GAP - (like uniqlo, not so fthin)
Uniqlo (small collars, skele-fit)
Eton (way too expensive for what it is)
Charles Tywritt/T.M Lewin (small collars, very stiff cheap fabrics)
J.Crew - (small collars, thin, cheap fabric, short hems)

anyone else's pockets on their bills khakis flare out unflatteringly? my pair of m2s fit perfectly in the waist and thigh but the side pockets flare out and make my hips look huge. most chinos have pockets that are angled slightly to the front of the pants, but bills are parallel to the outseam, which is what i think causes this. heads up to anyone thinking of copping. nice fabric and proper rise but they don't work for me

>During 2016, New Balance opposed the Trans Pacific Partnership and condemned the Obama administration's support for it, arguing that it would hurt their domestic shoe manufacturing (while Nike, which does not manufacture in the US, supported the TPP). Matt Lebretton, the company's Vice President of public affairs said in April 2016 "I would say that when Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump all agree on something, then it has to be given a closer look; and they all agree that TPP is not the right policy." After Donald Trump won the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Lebretton told a reporter "The Obama administration turned a deaf ear to us [about trade] and frankly, with President-elect Trump, we feel things are going to move in the right direction." Some news outlets reported that an ad-hoc boycott campaign was created out of an interpretation of Lebretton's remarks as supportive of Trump. Owner and Chairman Davis donated almost $400,000 to the Trump Victory Committee in September 2016.

when in doubt, check UK stores. They have reliable shipping since we're in the commonwealth, and it's as if everything is 20% off because we don't have to pay VAT.

Cordings sells good flannel wool trousers, though atm they only have green. Peter Christian also sells them, but it's a wool blend and their usual fit is pretty /grandad/ mode.

ebay is slightly frustrating in that you can get some very cheap stuff that is almost good but the fit or style is just that little bit wrong. This was $13 and I was the only bidder. Jacket just that little too long I think.

Made by "Christian Dior Monsieur" which I believe was a brand name licensed out by CD to department stores in the 80s and 90s. Still CD tho lol.

I'd agree with your points, I'll probably get my seamstress to do the sleeves first and wait a bit on the jacket length. I'm not sure she is up to it to be honest. I'll have to find a proper tailor somewhere.

Trousers (pants) I'll leave as I plan to sew in buttons for braces so they'll be sat higher once I've done that.

Thanks. If can recommend you something. Get the jacket sleeves hemmed first and wear those sleeve holders for the shirt. That way it won't roll up too much when you bend your arms. Also, you save money. Braces are a good idea. Be sure to check if the pants supports them first as, sometimes, I find they require a thicker waistband.

Agreed eBay can be really disappointing sometimes. Currently waiting for pic related madras jacket to be delivered. First saw it posted on the Talk Ivy forum where people were gushing over it but no one bought it, because while listed as 40R, the measurements suggested 36 or 38 (16-17 inch shoulders, 18 inch chest). I ended up messaging the seller and he remeasured it for me and turns out the chest is 20-20.5 inches across (I’m about 38-39R). So I snagged it for $30. Praying it isn’t a let down, because I love the colors.

Prep is rooted in capitalist merchant culture in the North East which originated in the 1700s and early 1800s. Jews were not excluded from this and thus it is anti/prep/ to ban them from premises.

I'd say a solid 7/10, functioning human-tier fit. There's nothing too innovative or unique about it, but all the pieces are there and well put together

Also I think charcoal socks would work better here than navy or brown, but that's a minor point

Yeah, don't do bow ties unless you're definitely gay, or wearing black tie. There's a reason that gay character in American Psycho wore one, it's a very obvious signal

Really, thrifting/ebay for interesting vintage pieces is your best bet. Generally jumpers are safest, you can find very cheap 100% wool shetlands/fairisles in interesting cuts, patterns, and textures fairly easily. Even a simple dropped shoulder (more common in the 80s) can make a fit more interesting and unique. Also overcoats and tweed jackets can be interesting pieces

All this is assuming you have the basics down and all that - you could also experiment with silhouettes and different styles of classic things (maybe broad soled English brogues rather than slim American/Italian styles, maybe high waisted slim chinos for an early 60s collegiate look, maybe a slightly oversized Oxford for an 80s preppy type thing)
