only tips I can give is that if your hair is in the weird looking phase and you feel like getting a haircut, just don't. grow it out until you have a proper length and then get your ends cut + volume reduced. have a barber you can trust with that, otherwise months of progress will be lost.
oh and conditioner is your biggest friend. I personally never used shampoo. co-wash gave me a nice wavy texture instead of being flat, dry and boring.

also, manbuns could make you look goofy, so be sure that it suits you...

Not if your hair gets frizzy, no. Mine always gets way more out of control if I let it air dry. Make sure you're brushing when you blow dry as well, so you release the static.

Whats a decent hair style I should go with? I'm always extremely self conscious of my hair, though I like it long, and receive many compliments on my hair on a regular basis. Any time I cut it I feel regret almost immediately for whatever reason.
I just cut it tonight for the first time in 3 years. The ends were split to hell and back and honestly it needed done. I did like my hair on many days though some days it did look like total shit and it was difficult to manage sometimes with the length it was.
My hair was in the middle of my back, and I cut a little more off than needed just to be a bit more manageable, so its about half an inch past my collar bone all the way around really.
I want to have an actual style rather than all my hair roughly the same length all the way around. Hopefully I didn't cut it too short to achieve some sort of style without growing it a bit more first.
Any suggestions?

Started growing it out from an undercut. Go for it only if you have time to take care of it. I was usually spending half an hour just to comb it in the shower and another half an hour just to style it. Apply oils (castor and peppermint mixture was what I used) to your scalp as it is more likely to dry out. Another advice is to quit shampoo, or buy one without sodium laureth sulfate, a good conditioner and use at least a weekly hair mask (virgin olive oil, eggs, grounded coffee). As a last advice, DON'T grow your hair out if you don't like your hairline.

ive had long hair for years, but last year i severely damaged a large chunk of it and in addition accidentally burned another lock when lighting up a cigar on new years. how to cope with part of my hair going through that awkward stage once more? it likes to poof and frizz out no matter how much conditioner i use. all my other hair is long and nice, but theres just a chunk thats a solid few inches shorter than everything else. i manage to hide it under my other hair, but its still noticeable to me. is it worth taking hair growth supplements like propidren to try and speed this stuff up? im also from eastern europe so i may have some genetic vitamin deficiency like my dad which could lead to extra unhappy breakage

if you don't have some natural waviness to your hair you're kind of out of luck
try a sea salt spray (can make your own), which might give you some wave, but that will dry out your hair
if you have natural waviness then look into a sulfate free shampoo and silicone/dimethicone free conditioners, and possibly a mousse that is silicone free as well--silicone will make buildup that is sticky and heavy
squish the mousse into your hair while it's wet and then air dry

Fresh from the shower so it's wet now. This is approx one year's growth.
My motivation to grow it was at least long enough to donate to those foundations that make wigs for sick children if I grew tired of it.
I have a double crown, very thick and straight hair but it seems that it is have curls after all since I've been getting 'cat tails' lately.

Curly. I'm going in to the barbers in a few days to get the neck fluff removed, but the ear wings just seem like a hurdle I have to cross with time. Once the sides get a couple inches longer the weight should stop it flairing out horizontally, so for now I just gotta grit my teeth and bare it.

from what I've found personally, silicones build up on my hair and produce a heavy, unpleasant oiliness. I co-wash my hair since it's wavy, and use little to no shampoo at all, which is what works for me
it will be up to the individual's habits as to whether they will have better luck with or without silicones in their hair, and if they're having issues with buildup it's worth it to try other products

It took me like 2 months of nopoo before i could transition to shampooing once a week for good results.

I had long hair before and when i shampood it would become dry and when I didnt it would get greasy after like 2 days. After nopooing for 2month i was able to start shampooing once a week. if you can get a blood panel done for vitamin deficiencies then do that and see if you do in fact have some kind of problem there
there isn't really a magic pill or supplement that will make your hair grow in faster

I'd suggest seeing whether the ingredients in your shampoo and conditioners are drying your hair out (alcohols, sulfates), and try to switch to a conditioner that doesn't have silicones to see if that helps you (i.e. wash your hair with very little shampoo and more conditioner, focus on roots with shampoo and ends with conditioner)
do you brush your hair when it's dry? that will make it poofier and frizzier if you have some natural wave or curl

Use plenty of conditioner. It gets wirey it gets bad.

yeah, any wide tooth comb will be good. make sure to use conditioner (or whatever product-that-conditions that you like using), you're less likely to damage your hair when it's slicked up and slippery

Long haired vet here that's had lots of success with the look. Get your hair trimmed regularly at an actual salon and keep it shoulder length or shorter. Also ya gotta keep your facial hair short and try to accentuate the jawline. Long hair softens your face so you need jaw definition to balance it. Also don't be afraid to drop coin on fancy conditioners.
