Also - almost EVERY european greatcoat has this ability. ALSO you can just sew hooks on the coat.... think practically for a moment.

Romanian, czech, russian, austrian greatcoats all have hooks for this purpose.

Yeah, they all have these wee hooks on the inside of the front bottom corner. They hook on to either the bottom of the belt, the pockets, or the lining. Ofttimes a simple loopstitch is put somewhere on the front for the hooks to hook onto.

They don't see much use in the field because people like their knees warm and so they mostly get used on parade.

They're worth getting. I prefer the swedish wool ones slightly, but I'm having trouble finding a pair that fit my fat waist. Got four bloody pairs sat around that I can;t get done up properly.

Finnish ones are much easier to size.
