You must be getting shit ones if they are not comfortable or they are too tight for you. They are popular partly because of their comfort. Depending on the fit, if it's super casual but you still want to look good slimfit jeans are the way to go.

Like I said I did during my teenage years and looking back to it is just pure cringe. I must've looked like such a faggot wearing skin tight jeans which stopped right at my boatsized sneakers.
I only wear 100% cotton pants nowadays, mainly chinos, and it's so much better.
