Mosley is the best leftwing Labour leader the UK never had. His time in the Labour Party proved he could easily have been a Prime Minister, and his economic theories drawn from Guild Socialism - "syndicalism with English characteristics" - would have been fucking ace.

Unfortunately he hopped on the fash train and it screwed up a lot of what he was going for. He was too eager. He would have made a fantastic Labour man or even a good Communist if he'd gone that way after he left Labour. As a socialist it makes me feel like a great loss for socialism, Britain and the world.

Gotta remember that it was the Great Depression at the time. The country was on the verge of collapse for years by then, and on top of that, the empire still hadn’t recovered from the atrocious losses of world war 2. His lack of patience is understandable. It’s impressive that he almost made it, all things considering, and I feel bad that he lived long enough to see his country die
