watch me give you advice and not follow it myself
key is to be direct and not autistic, if the conversation/friendship doesn't work just abort, there's plenty of other people in the world
>follow people and reply to stories you can strike conversation w/ on instagram
>follow people on sc and do the same
>find appropriate situations to initiate small talk with people like waiting at a bus stop or outside of a cafe
>if you have some friends or acquaintances, try and get in a situation where they can introduce you to their other friends
>if you're a regular at some type of shop or cafe and recognize other regulars, or a person that works there, maybe try start small-talking with them
>meet people in line for any concert venues you go to
>join a gang or club (book club, sports, pickup soccer)
>compliment someone

when all else fails being not social isn't bad, you may not have the same problem as me OP but it took me a while to learn how to be alone without feeling lonely. was able to catch up on my personal endeavors.
