I've had my Ray for 3 years now and its ok. The watch started gaining around 2-3minutes a day after around 2 years but I don't mind that since I'm rotating it with other watches anyways.

Do what I do. Get one good automatic watch that is versatile (not overly sporty or overly dressy) has hand winding, sapphire crystal and just good specs in general. I already have an sne437 but I'm thinking of replacing it with a sbbn033

good or bad choice? I bought my sne437 to replace my skx007 because I'm not that fond of automatics and wanted the accuracy and pick up and go to citizen gave me, but never truly loved it or how it wore compared to the skx.

Anyway I really like the Oris myself, but it's a Sellita for 2k while CW tend to use the same Sellita for almost half the price and the Oris has a propietary bracelet
I don't know much about CW's SH21 movement except it's supposed to be better and has a much higher power reserve

Had a look at a Steinhart in person and I'm disappointed. It feels like the only selling point is the COSC movement and that you can get a "homages" of non standard subs like milspecs and reds. Otherwise not worth it. The amplification on the date is cheap and is just glass glued on, zero amplification which makes it look like any other sub copy. Only get a milspec or no date, and even then...

I mean these models are almost a decade old now and are discontinued, and Bulova got repositioned from old name brand fashion watches with base citizen movements to a higher status in the meantime. It's possible that they are fakes (even though I didn't hear of Bulovas getting faked at that time), or they might be unsold/customer return/demonstration watches Bulova or some stockist got rid of for buttons due to brand repositioning and stuff, just like how the upper-end Caravelle by Bulova sub-brand got axed, but their models from the same era can still be bought NOS on ebay et al. for dirt. I just don't know.

Ghost bezels may be aesthetic, but they're certainly not practical. I can barely make out shit when I use the bezel for timing, everything is just almost the same tone of gray.
