I was a teen from 2007 to 2013, pic related is how I dressed in 2007 to 2009. Cringey graphic tees from Wet Seal. Tacky Pastry sneakers (mine were pink and white with shiny gold leopard print, couldn't find the exact ones) or Payless Airwalk-tier fake Converse. Wire frame glasses. Frizzy curly hair in a ponytail. I remember being super excited to find my first plaid skirt at Walmart because I could finally dress like an anime schoolgirl.

I couldn't stand the scene/emo kids, but I was jelly of how skinny they were. Dark times.

I dressed really ordinarily over those years, mostly wearing stuff like shorts, jeans, or sometimes other pants, like cargo pants, corduroys, or occasionally something nicer, and then mostly t-shirts or the occasional polo or dress shirt. Probably the peak of my hairstyling was around when it looked like pic-related, often between 2000 and 2009, when I grew my hair out more. My hair still looks like that in this decade, sometimes, although I often get it cut a little shorter on the sides and back, to begin with. I generally prefer having a diagonally-slanting fringe, to a more combed back look, although I do that too, on occasion.

Phase 2:
The sides of my hair kept vetting curly before the rest of my hair, so I cut the sides off. Also I stopped geling my hair because winter made my hair almost breakable. Do I had the hairstyle of pic.
I just said fuck it and cut the test of it off a few months later.

So Emos in 2004/2005 were outcasts? Like real outcasts? I thought the look would be popular with MCR, Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco. Especially since those bands were at their heights.

Most kids worenlikenstuded belts the weirdo kids would have denim jackets with punk patches.

I don't particularly remember any guys wearing guyliner outside a few special occasions

And1 and Dave Chappelle we're huge around then

There were kids that listened to greenday then afi we're spergs same with Evanescence girls

Emo was popular on the Internet, like on forums and Myspace, but everyone irl picked on emos. Even wearing black on occasion got people telling me I was a cutter and shit. If I recall correctly, even those bands denied being emo because of the negative connotations.

The retro "vapor wave" feel of the 1992 Geo Tracker, the official car of /fa/ really resonates with the members of generation x. Even the younger gen-y consumers appreciate the ironic reflection on a plastic decade as well as mournful of its demise. Thanks, but pic is not me, although he looks alot like me. Close enough. I still take elements from the punk/skin style, but more casual and practical. Lots of dark colors, straight leg black jeans, band tees, dark work tees, darker plaid flannels, jean jackets, work jackets, wool overcoat for frigid shit, black wool watchcap, outdoor/workboots that are more practical than doc martens, but still have that really plain boot sillouhette. Oh, and short cropped hair. Over all the same style and silhouettes, but with more casual and varied items. No focus on the "it's gotta be docs" or that sort've thing. You'll see me shilling the "dressed down skinhead" look in the skinhead threads that pop up.
