Not really. I'm Alt Right, I write for American Renaissance, I'm a card-carrying member of Gen Identitaire Canada and Italy.

In Roman and Greek societies they had a Mesopotamian style of slavery (slaves were not a caste system nor of a specific alien race, but could eventually earn their freedom in some circumstances).

They therefore viewed tattoos as degenerate. This was because criminals, and slaves were branded with identifying marks, or tattoos (in case they escaped, killed their masters, or to identify their criminality in the case of criminals/murderers/rapists).

To Romans and Greeks, tattoos were a sign of slavery and violence. The Romans and Greeks also viewed their more barbarian cousins to the North as tattooed inferiors.

They also had a humanistic philosophy of body-worship. To alter the body in unnatural, or not classically beautiful ways, was heresy. Exercise was a must for any respectable man, and their fit bodies were the often paraded freely nude in the streets, while their women remained veiled.

Northern Europeans on the other hand - especially Celts and later Vikings - had tribal tattooing, scarification, and war paints. These were deeply ingrained parts of their culture. Tattoos could list allegiances, religious Gods, or status symbols within their tribe. To some Northern Europeans, it would be strange to not have tattoos.

So when it comes to fascists and our position on tattoos, it historically varies from culture to culture.

I'm Italian, I like my skin and body, I wish to remain untattooed like my ancestors.

My wife is Anglo-Germanic. She has no tattoos, and despite admiring the symbols of her ancestors, she does not wish for a tattoo today because of their modern association with trashiness, gang culture, or (more insidious) hipster culture.

When you're dealing with groups like Atomwaffen, Project Werewolf, Hell's Angels, or the Aryan Nation (aspects of modern white nationalism that deal specifically with violence, and acts of crime/terror as means of saving the white race), then you add an element of criminality to the equation.

In most criminal cultures, and prisons, tattoos are still an identifying marker of your status and allegiance.

When you contrast this with classical fascists, or the modern Alt Right (at least those who take it seriously), criminality and terror are not our main methods of recruitment. We would much rather wear a suit and tie, or at least not have a Swastika tramp stamp. It might be viewed as elitism to look down on them, but McVeigh-style nationalism has never been good for our image. The new age Identitarian movements are much more attractive to the public, and have gained millions of supporters because of our more proper marketing.

Or as Dr. William Pierce put it "if you don't kick out the losers and degenerates now, you'll never attract the decent people, only more degenerates."

German National Socialism would have never condoned tattoos. Same with Italian fascism. Nor would most aspects of Europe's far right today.

But if there is anything worse than getting a poorly understood tattoo of your ancestor's symbols (larping), or getting a tattoo for scalping an innocent negroid in jail (skinheads).... there is one group which is the most insidious and vulgar of all, and that is the hipster. The stylized, artsy, meaningless tattoos, with no sense of classical taste, symmetry, or balance..... They will be the first into the gas chambers.

Ignoring all common fashion sense, however, if you want to wear this hat solely for the value of advertising your political stance, just be prepared to look like an idiot i guess.

And no, i'm not saying this to push any political agenda, I just genuinely think this is not a fashionable article of clothing and should not be treated as such. It is a political icon piece and is treated as such, it was not designed with fashion in mind, it was literally only designed to appeal to people who wear these kinds of hats ie frat boys and working class whites
