Is facial scruff a specifically Milennial thing, or is Generation Z just too young to grow it?

I feel like I never got into the habit of shaving because it was socially acceptable for young people not to. But now, as a nearly thirty year old boomer, I realise that this may have been a fad that I took for granted.
