Hi /thinspo/, Fatass here, just lurking.

My BMI is 26, been that way for years. For the longest time I’ve been hating myself for being a greedy disgusting pig who can’t stop stuffing my face because I’m a piece of shit with a lack self control. I knew about MFP but was terrified of seeing just how much food I crammed in my fat face so I avoided it to ease my own inner pain (I’m a dumbass, I know). But I decided to give it a go back in early June and have been religiously tracking my calories every single day, as accurately as possible. I came to realize that I only eat 1100 calories a day on average, max 1600 if I go out to eat and sometimes as low as 450 if I woke up late in the day. But apparently I’ve also been drinking roughly 1000 calories or more worth of alcohol daily. I knew I was a heavy drinker, but not THAT heavy. So I total in at well over 2000 calories a day when that’s way more than I burn with my BMR and exercise.

Anyone else have this problem? I’ve been trying to cut back on drinking for some time but AA meetings and attempting to replace booze with weed/cigarettes but that hasn’t helped. I’m freaking out. If I could stop my fat ass from drinking maybe I’ll be thin again.

in the past when i saw people posting in proana spaces about wanting to get rid of muscle i thought they were crazy, but now here i am.

anyone have any tips (besides moderately paced cardio, which i do, or cake and pizza, which i avoid). i just need to drop 5-10 pounds, but its been more difficult than ever before.

ive been there. i was always overweight but over the course of a few years i managed to drink myself to the point of medical obesity. still, getting to a decent bmi was easy once i figured out the right mindset.

the solution is to understand how pathetic you have become. at the start you drank because it felt good, but does alcohol even do anything for you anymore? all youre doing is making yourself more and more wretched. your daily life must be a nightmare. every time you drink youre just making it worse.

whether or not you quit drinking, your life is going to suck, at least in the short term. why not spend that time cutting yourself off from booze? youre going to feel like shit either way, but at least this way theres a light at the end of the tunnel.

every time youre tempted to break your sobriety, just do a cost benefit analysis. it will clearly favor not drinking. also start your own folder of thinspo images. when youre surrounded by images of thin people, it becomes harder to hide from your mistakes.

I started at a bmi of 16, 17 now. Does that make a difference? I build muscle easily for a girl. Getting larger arms and legs isn’t an issue, but I don’t want my waist to get square.

same deal here, plus i think i had more muscle when i was fatter and it just didnt look as obvious. it really just depends on luck of the genetic draw, either you store muscle/fat somewhere or you don't. my only advice is to stuff like barbell exercises for arms instead of dumbells or machines.

The meme that women can’t get large without purposefully bodybuilding needs to die.
I’m not joking when I said I put on muscle easily. I used to swim and I got so large shoulders/neck that it looked hilarious if I didn’t dress for it. Which would be fine anyway, I’m skinnier now and It will balance out my hips. I just don’t want a square waist as well. :/

What are you even on about? Are you planning to use the machine for cardio? Or are you unaware that spot reduction isn't a thing?

Unless you somehow do them enough to lose more body fat than what you build in muscle (hint: you won't) you're just going to get huge legs.
Doing normal cardio would be a way better option, it's not going to build your leg muscles as much and you'll actually lose fat too.

people like us who have weight fluctuations or ED or are just trying to actively lose weight through diet and bother to commit this much mental effort to it think about food far, far more than "regular" skinny people. More than we can even probably understand. One of my closest friends is like this and we talked about it a few times and he doesnt think about food at all until hes actually physically hungry. He doesn't plan meals, doesnt think about what time to get lunch or dinner, cant even guesstimate any calories for individual food items, doesn't think about when to time any snacks for satiety, etc. Its a passive thing. Meanwhile Ive planned out entire mealplans for a day in my head with calorie totals that are obsessively accurate, if im even capable of it, i realize im going to have to somehow turn off that stream of consciousness that relates to food.

It’s really normal to binge if you’re dieting. And really hard to control unless you’ve been dieting for a long time. 700cal in popcorn isn’t too bad really. Go for a walk, think about what you can do to avoid binging again, make a plan with alternative good tasting food you’ll have.

Also, Make sure you’re getting enough sleep, water, nutrients and rest.
Caffeine hinders the absorption of many vitamins so taking a multivitamin as far away from your caffeine’s consumption is a good idea. Malnourishment makes you way more likely to binge.

Sure!
I started off adding coconut oil to my oat meal at breakfast for example and cooking veggies with a little bit more olive oil.
Chia seeds are a great breakfast staple!
Tofu, fish (canned is super convenient) and meats are packed with protein. You could boil eggs and have those on hand.
Nuts are also a good snack, but make sure to measure them well.
Adding nut butters, seeds, avocado to meals is also a simple way. c:

Lean meats and fats that aren’t “heavy” (Butter or most oils) could be what you’re looking for.
So shrimp, chicken, nuts, nutbutters, chiaseeds etc. Avoid things like bacon, and burger meat if they don’t make you feel good.
Hope I got what you meant!

I’ve heard something about coconut oil being bad but I don’t remember what it was.
I eat it still and only avoid vegetable oils (like canola) because their omega 6 to omega 3 ratio is bad, causing a lot of inflammation in the body.

The difference in waist size for xs and s tops (hm, women) is 4 cm, while M to L is 12 cm.
Also it’s less less noticeable that a garment doesn’t fit you if you’re large, since nothing really fits well anyway.

I personally avoid wheat. That really helps with the bloating for me personally. I'll share my diet though. My lunch is chicken salad by the way. ( would not recommend leaving it in the fridge past 2 days) I leave out the spices because they basically add up to nothing, but I use garlic and onion powder, with sriracha. I also put some sesame seeds on my rice. This keeps me under 1600 calories. I noticed a deficit in my fiber intake, so that's why I take the gummies with lunch. I eat these meals everyday, so anyone can feel free to share similar meals. I would like some more variety in my life.

School is more important than getting thin. I would cut it back to a ~500 calorie deficit and healthy foods. This way you can add in some exercise, which will help you relive all the stress from school. It is hard to focus on studying when you are starving the whole time.

Ephedrine and caffeine combine to act on your nervous system and increase your metabolism so you burn slightly more calories at rest, massively suppress appetite (I've gotten nauseous trying to eat half the portions I'm used to) and supposedly it makes your body burn adipose fat tissue better and avoid muscle mass which is why it's popular with people cutting weight. It also acts like a mental stimulant but this apparently goes away after a couple weeks unless you cycle it. You dose it so it's active on your system throughout the day

I'm already underweight and figured I might as well work with what I've got

>also what the fuck do I need help for, they aren't going to prescribe a pill that will make it go away
they'll give you a high-calorie diet that will keep you looking good without making you fat as fuck. That's what they did to me, but I'm too stupid and can't figure out how to cook most of the stuff I've been told to eat.

yeah it's just people that have no self control or revel in the idea that they can use it as a scapegoat for their weight gain. that being said water weight gain is possible, but that's like 5-10lbs so nbd

Don’t chew gum. It makes it worse
as anon said, lots of water.
If you find eating once a day too hard get a bottle of skim milk or onions milk and drink that’s through the day (theyre about 300cal/l where I live check yours and subtract from your dinner) it’s low calorie and will keep your blood sugar stable. Do this if you get too dizzy too. It’s better to revise your diet than to fail and pig out and give up.
If you do binge that’s extremely common, you’re not weak, what’s not common is to continue persevering after and not giving up. Focus on that. Go for a short walk every day afterwards to make up for your binge and you’ll be fine.
Coffee is a great curb for your appetite, watch the sugar though.
Eat healthy foods when you do eat. Make this an opportunity to get off your addiction to sugary sweets and fast food. You won’t believe how disgustingly sweet most cakes are, and how great fruit and vegetables taste once you’re not addicted to sugar and get your sense of taste back.
Eggs curb hunger
It’s easier to not eat the whole day if you skip breakfast
It’s easier to not eat if you’re busy
Take vitamins with your food and gets blood test a few months after you end your diet (malnutrition is what kills people, and you’ll be way more likely to rebound or binge if you have a deficiency)
Don't exercise a lot you’re eating too little for that
Avoid foods when you’re hungry: don’t go into the kitchen, don’t look at the fridge, don’t go to the grocery store, walk on the other side of the road from your favourite bakery, avoid the chips section of the store. Stuff like that
Bring a toothbrush with you when you’re out, you’re mouth will start smelling bad once you start losing weight.

Don’t ever ever ever purge. Go for a walk instead. I don’t care if you binged 5k cal in ice cream. Take the consequence. If not You’re teaching yourself that it’s okay to eat shit as long as you ruin your teeth in the process, not a good habit!

>the fact you are planning your day around food and when you eat and are putting in this much effort and thought into it is disordered behavior

The eggs in the fridge are almost expired so I should make sure I make an omelet for breakfast. Lunch meeting with Tom- he always picks trendy Korean places that I don't like so I should remember to pack a granola bar in my bag. I was thinking about Nana today, so I'll stop by the store after work and get ingredients for her famous lasagna.

^ this is planning your day around food, when/what you eat and takes a lot more effort than posting on an online forum/restricting/OMAD. and it's not disordered eating in the slightest. don't go projecting disordered eating like that

Good job so far, it seriously doesn’t matter if you fuck up as long as you DONT USE IT AS A SHIT EXCUSE TO QUIT.
Just continue your planned diet, do some work/housework/studying/tidying/exercis since you’re benefiting from the extra energy.
Also, what can you do to make sure you don’t mess up again?

I find that if I'm too active in the morning/listen to music/move around too much, it almost ALWAYS guarantees I'll have a killer headache later in the day.

Has anyone else experienced this? I hate to not be able to function or listen to music in the morning in fear of getting a headache. Could it be a nutritional thing? Currently 6" and around 132 lb. My diet's kinda shit, low calorie and fruit/yogurt heavy. If changing it to more protein/fats would fix the headaches, I'd be willing to try it, I guess.

I honestly just follow healty-ish habits, no shitty food, no sugars, very little alcohol, etc. What does help however is having never been fat, I used to exercise a lot as a kid, so I never developed a lot of adipose tissue. Sorry for not being of more help.
