IF YOU DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY, WHEN YOU COULD DO IT, YOU ARE BEING UNHYGIENIC.

HAIR DAMAGE IS NOT INCURRED BY WASHING OF THE HAIR, BUT BY USING CHEMICALS THAT ARE DETRIMENTAL TO THE HAIR, AND TO THE SCALP, BY DEFICIENT DIET, AND BY INSUFFICIENT EXPOSURE TO WIND, AND TO SUNLIGHT.

Shampoo never.

>>13480657
Wrong, shampoo's job is to remove oil. Where do you think this oil is coming from? Are people pouring olive oil on you or something?

It is much rougher on hair to shampoo and use conditioner, especially if you also use hot water.

Use the same common sense as yo would your hands. Do you scrub them with soap every day? Of course not, they would be dry even if you use moisturizer. You only use soap if you actually have some oil to remove.

never unless it actually gets actual dirt in it from playing rugby/manual laboring. I scrub my scalp every night but just with water, then dry it with a towel as soon as I hop out of the shower. My hair is never greasy and smells fine, if I want it to smell nice/look fancy I use bryel cream. The use of shampoo strips your hair of natural oils then you replace them with synthetic ones with conditioner, your hair then makes more natural oil and you get greasy hair. The use of shampoo/conditioner necessitates the use of the other trapping you in. Just throughly scrub your scalp in the shower and towel off immediately and you don't need it. I used to have to shampoo everyday because my hair would be greasy by the end of each day, not anymore.

Soap removes oil, not bacteria. Removing oil is cleanliness, not hygiene. If you are washing your hands with soap thinking you are getting rid of bacteria, then you are wrong. Even anti-bacterial soap only works if you leave it on for hours.

Water and mechanical action removes bacteria and oil just as well as soap or anti-bacterial soap. Look up how to wash your hands properly.

I've tried zinc pyrithione (h&s), ketoconazole (nizoral), piroctone olamine, hydrocortisone prescription strength. Scalp keeps staying flaky and when scratched exposed red and irritated skin under.

At start I wasn't sure if it was dry scalp or actual dandruff so I tried leave-in moisturisers as well as coconut oil, neither worked.

Have yall never heard of clarifying shampoo? It's the only kind I can use. My hair is naturally thin, and it always used to get greasy if I went a day without shampooing. At some point though all that stopped working, so I tried clarifying shampoo. Works fucking magic. I used to have to wash it everyday with it too, but it kept my hair soft and clean. Now I can go a day or two without it and it's only a little greasy. Still prefer to wash it everyday though. I'm growing it out long, and don't want any grease at all. It's a bit pricey, but I highly recommend it. You only need about a dime sized drop, so a bottle lasts a while. Pic related is what I use.

Might sound weird, but Try rubbing your hair with egg yolk and then wash it with cold water. Just try for one day, for me it removes the greasiness.

Now I live like 20 min from the ocean and humidity around 100% and every fucking morning I have to wash it. I'll wash it with water, but I only use shampoo when my hair starts getting greasy and I need to go outside. So shortest would be a 3 day interval, and longest could be a month. Shampoo is expensive because I'm a poor fag so I use it very sparingly.

no poo aint a meme boys

had gross fluffy hair since i was a kid, made a slow transition into no poo in highschool and havent gone back. my hair feels alot healthier, looks a lot less puffy and gross, and has often has a very nice wavy texture that you see people around here asking how to achieve all the time. seriously would recommend.

it took some time to get my hair used to not using shampoo though, for a while it would get very greasy if not dosed in chemicals. but you just need to ease yourself into it
i normally take a shower every other day, wash my hair with just water.

So, I've been doing No Shampoo for over a year now, only used it once when I had this spray on dye after Halloween I couldn't get out any other way. Usually I just use very warm water every morning and thoroughly massage my scalp under it, and my hair is the best it's ever been.
I'm seeing a lot of people talk about using conditioner though, thinking maybe I should bring that back in occasionally or no?
Is there certain ones I can't use, becasue I won't be using shampoo ever to clean out any buildup of anything.

So I’ve got about a 5 inch fringe. It’s fairly straight. I’m very white. I’m Scottish, Russian, Austrian, Italian, Polish, and Lithuanian. It’s definitely on the straighter end of the white people spectrum but just a bit wavy. My hair like literally bends and actually dents from sleeping on it. So I have to wash my hair every day to get a fresh canvas or something that doesn’t look disgusting, ridiculous, or half assed. Have to shower in the morning over the night because I haven’t worked out how to not sleep on my head. Shampoo just about every day. Shampoo and conditioner together every two or three days. Just conditioner once every week or two. May just wet it and try to get it into the best shape I can if I have no time or if I’m going to the gym. I also don’t shower at all and don’t leave the house once or twice a week because I’m a miserable disaster.

If you can get your hands on this, it's REALLY good for seborrheic dermatitis and doesn't destroy your scalp/hair. You don't have to wash your hair every day with it but it's perfectly safe to do so.

the active ingredient against seborrheic dermatitis on that product seems to be piroctone olamine which I've already tried in another product.

I don't think the other ingredients are going to make a fundamental difference.

It really didn't work for you? My seborrheic dermatitis was horrible. I used ketoconazole for a while but it was killing my scalp and hair so I took a weeks break and then switched to piroctone olamine in the Heal shampoo. Haven't had any problems since then.

Yes, washing your hands properly takes time, but unlike soap is actually works.

If you wash your hands with soap you strip all the oil from your hands. If you wash your hands properly with water they are cleaned, and they stay protected.

Using soap is not an excuse to have poor personal hygiene.
