Steel toes aren't that great. The toe of the boot gets scratched off faster and depending on the boot they might be shitty for your knees, your back etc.

My favorite steel (composite?) toe boots are made in USA Matterhorn (1196?). One tough ass boot. Lasted over 8 years in construction/ forestry. NEVER let me down as a REAL work boot. Unfortunately, I think they are discontinued.

I have a pair over 15 years old. Held up very well too. The only thing I don't like about them is the stitched band at the top. It's not enough to make not them wear them, however. I this respect, the Pascal is more similar to the taller original boots than the 1460s - which is somewhat strange.

bruh i have had multiple pairs of docs, and anymore the only ones i would pay money for are the mono. The yellow stitching and the literal puke colored soles really aren't that flattering - theres a reason that it's such a popular boot for sjw's and fat chicks.

Great suggestion. I've never seen the vivos. Will definitely check them out. As for myself, I've found tennis shoes - the real ones such as Yonnex, give your boot wearing feet a much needed break as well. Prescription orthotics are also EXTREMELY helpful. I even put them in my boots on occasion.

Wear them however you like. They aren't exactly winter Sorels. I wear mine all year long as a farm hand in the summer. Very nice compromise between hardcore work boots and light pliable boots providing decent protection. Shorts or pants - depending on my mood and the required day's work is. I still keep my Matterhorns (which is essential for my other construction job) in my car though in case I have to break out the Sthil.

I've probably only worn them 10 times, but for 6 hours + each time. They fucked up my heel the first 3 times, but only noticed once I took them off. Now they aren't as bad, but I've been spraying stuff on my heel.

The best part for me at least is the rugged sole. Great for when you have to run back in the wet kitchen for beer.

Ffs last summer I bought a pair made in England with those specs, I bought them the same size as my chink-Docs and they hurt like hell and were too small most of the time. I still wore them for 9 months but now I've sold to them to a friend whose shoe size is one smaller than mine. I could cop a similar pair (one size up) but in better condition for 100€, but it would sting. It sucks when you get off leather boots.

got some docs but they fit too big. i wear thick hiking socks with them and its bearable but ideally i wouldnt have to. i thought an insole may solve this but when i tried to walk with them in it kept jumping up at me and moving in the shoe. do i need to stick them down or will this happen with any insole i try?
