Literally that manga, its called "if youre going to dress up do it like this" or something like that

It has somewhat outdated and really basic, albeit safe, advice on specific pieces and trends. However, where it shines is how it discusses common beginner pitfalls, like overbuying etc

this manga is made for young adult japanese males who have spent their early teens wearing school uniforms, and like you said, it mostly revolves around the basics and not shit like street fashion or whatever core you have in mind

"Real Clothes", I think it takes place in the 90's. It's about a slaes clerk specialized in bedding who is transferred to the fashion department of the store. Then she has to learn about fashion, rise through the ranks until she's a buyer, etc.

There's an OK J-drama of it but the story is much shorter and the ending is different.
