Military clothing is cut for military figures. I own a WWII greatcoat, it's cut with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, thus it fits my frame that has done construction work but could still stand to be filled out. If you wear military clothing but don't have a military body it's just draping cloth over yourself. If you like the baggy, kid-in-dad's-shoes look, that's good. But if you are after the military aesthetic that comes with military clothes, you're gonna need to start doing pushups and jogs.

You're both half right. In all wars there is a standard colour specified by a governing body, immediately following which logistical problems will occur and the supply of uniforms and equipment can and always WILL vary on some degree based on circumstance, happenstance, etc etc.

Ww1 was not an exception, ww2 was not an exception.... there's never an exception. It's just not logistically feasable for all things to be exact, that is why anything that matches the defined military spec in broad terms gets issued.

I'm not the final authority, of course but consult as many originals as you can and you will surely see pic relevant in almost any case.

The funny thing is that everyone perceives me as gay (probably because of my waifishness and fascinations with 'manly' gear) but I'm not :P

What's your chest size?

They run long in the body and arms but extremely TTS for the listed chest. Suggest buying based on your measured european chest size and then putting two darts in the back to take up any extra materiel that billows (this is what I did and it comes with two darts started, you just deepen them)
