exactly, it goes both ways, some people spend the money just because they can, not because they actually really like it. some people only buy it because it's at a price they think is a "steal", not because they actually like the item.

it goes both ways, you delude yourself into thinking your like it because it is so expensive. just the same, you delude yourself into thinking you like it because it is "such a good deal"

the proper way, is to disregard the price completely, but obviously this works better when you have a lot of money.

I have to admit though, that I don't even consider buying certain items if they aren't a minimum price. But once it meets that threshold, I disregard the price, or whether it's "on sale", in fact, I actually never buy "Sale" items, unless it was an item that I really wanted when it was regular price.
