New milspo/terrorwave thread? Old one reached bump limit.

How do you manage this style in warm weather? It seems like the core parts of this fashion involve long pants, boots and some kind of parka, jacket or coat.
How would you make a version of it that still retains the style but is tolerable to wear in summer?

I'm trying to put together a milspo/terrorwave/partisancore wardrobe, and pic related is basically all I currently have, not counting basic things like normal tennis shoes and blue jeans and such, but basically I'm a lost nerd in college trying to assemble an actual sense of style, and I'm not sure where to go in this.

I definetly want to add more tans and brown, and other earthtones besides shades of green into my wardrobe, but I want to stay with the mostly muted, earthy look, like I'm thinking burnt orange, or rust red being the most extreme I'm really wanting to go, and I'd really like to get more accessories like bags and shit, all that I have that really goes well with the look are aviator sunglasses.

Mostly been wearing black and white tee shirts under the outerwear, because I find it goes well. I'm really looking for some nice shoes that aren't boots, and I'd like to pic up a leather jacket that fits the style sometime too.

I fuck with the fit. Love that jacket, I'd like something similar in black.

Anyway femanon here, I went for a /gopnitsa-wave/ look I guess the other day. Just did a grid for convenience.

Pretty basic, I need some accessories to go along with it like a sling backpack or something as it's lacking atm. And I'm not really feeling the Superstars, maybe Gazelles or Asics Tiger?

Lemme know what you think and give suggestions.

Superstars are fine for terrorwave especially with the contrast striping. Suede is the standard but that doesn't mean that superstars are wrong.

An accessory would definitely improve that fit, but I think you could also make it more interesting by changing one of the two tops to be less normcore. A legit milsurp jacket would be nice, especially with camo given the simplicity of the rest of the fit (as long as it's not too huge on you). I also am a big fan of chunky sweaters under field jackets, it really gives off the practical vibe that terrorwave tries to capture.

>> No.13163140

>>13163036
If you're comfortable with it you should post a pic. I'm actually not being a thirsty fuck, I think the milspo look is really interesting on girls and is something I wish we had more of in these & similar threads.

I agree with the anon above >>13163103, I think a legit surplus jacket would look good with all that. I don't think you need to worry about it being too huge, either, oversized military jackets on women look fantastic so long as the rest of your clothes fit well.

As far as shoes go I got nothing, not enough of a gopnik I guess. Accessories I'm sure something will come to mind later. (Though with a field jacket I rarely even carry a backpack because it has like 6 large pockets.)

It's a Gosha Rubchinskiy one from an old season, you might be able to find it on Grailed? Just search Gosha grey crewneck, should come up. There's one with black lettering and one with white.

>>13163103
I mean personally, not sure if I'm a fan of them (regardless of /terrorwave/) and would rather switch them for something else. That's why I was thinking Asics or your typical Gazelles; I also have Yeezy combat boots which could potentially go too.

Yeah, I agree on the milsurp piece, switching out the jacket to camo. The Gosha crewneck fits quite oversized already, but I do have other plain black crewnecks from Nudie that are oversized too.

>>13163140
Perhaps, I'll think about it! I'd like to see more too, just for inspo. Yeah, definitely going to look into a camo jacket and yeah I like oversized things anyway so not too worried about it being too big.

Accessories, like you say will come. Get some of your typical /terrorwave/ stuff.

Pic is from another persons blog but I can confirm it works.

You can use the dry crinkly part of onion skins, you can use red or yellow onions.

you need approximately one plastic grocery bag full of onion skins to dye, the pants pictured were dyed with one bag of 85% borwn/yellow onion skins and the remainder were red onion skins.

Put all the skins in a large non-reactive stainless steel bot , add water and boil for a long time until dark. This is your dye water.

Using a colander, strain off your dyewater into a holding container (another similarly sized pot will work) and throw away the skins. Transfer your water back into the original pot.

Add wet cotton or woolen clothes and simmer for a while, upwards of an hour, then strain and drip dry flat before washing.

Et voila, a beautiful soviet brown awaits you.

Depends on whether you add a mordant or not.
Mordants affix the colours to the fabric bu also alter the colour, iron mordant will differ from copper or aluminum mordant and so on.

Without mordant it stays vibrant as previous pic until washed, then it loses about 25% depending on heat of the wash. It lasts pretty well, I mean it's onion skins so you can just drop it back in for another dye.

Onion skins are also free if you go ask the grocery store for their 'garbage' ;)

The weather today opened my eyes to the realization that I lack good rain gear, so I'm now on the market for such.

Any reccomendations? I dunno if I want a softshell or a hardshell or a just a plain old raincoat, and I'm not really familiar with what my options are. Maybe something cheap milspo would be nice, but a light rain coat you could back into a backpack would be nice too.

I rarely ever have to deal with heavy rain, and if I ever needed heavy rain gear I'd look specifically for that, right now I just want a general use all purpose rain jacket that I can wear out around town or while out camping and be comfy in.

Burn off the threads with a lighter or heat gun, then wax the canvas! Will look good AND gain some repellency to boot.

The loose threads are normal. Consider the immense amount of time it would take to pull every one off. Think of it as the manufacturer leaving you a feature that is sort of a 'getting to know you' task for your jacket and you to do together. Good ice breaker!

Yeah I think Yeezy has really perfected the modern combat boot (aesthetically at least). Only problem is they're like $500. I really wish Bates or one of those brands made a model of their regular $100-$200 combat boots in some kind of maroon or oxblood or even dark brown or dark green.

That's why I go with DM's. They've got the right kind of look and come in everything you can think of. The SANDF did a green leather boot for a bit, but you can only really get them in massive sizes.

DM's definitely have a ton of variety but I'm thinking specifically a suede/nylon boot for this kind of streetwear look with skinny jeans. I'm just not a big fan of the tan suede because tan suede immediately makes me think of 2017 LA Instagram fuccboi-core (skinny distressed jeans and tan suede chelseas), and beyond that I think a darker color would just work better with my existing wardrobe

Do KommandoStore normally take a few days to ship? I ordered several days ago and my order still says unfulfilled.

Email them about it.
If you wait a few more days and they still haven't shipped they might send you some free almonds because they were late though.
