All of her comments not about "social justice" issues are pretty on point though. SLP latched on to a certain era and made up a modern youth subculture. There is no actual modern subculture of people who dress like SLP runway shows because to actually wear full SLP you need to be stupidly rich.

As far as her comments about race, gender, etc. I don't think that the heterosexual whiteness of SLP makes the clothes themselves inherently bad but it does ensure that SLP's aesthetic will never have anything to do with a real subculture in the 2000s. The forefront of culture is diverse, it's black, it's Asian, it's racially ambiguous, and it's definitely gay as hell.

I said that in the 2000s nobody who was playing rock music wore anything like what Hedi was designing. Hedi paid musicians to model his clothes but they weren't already wearing that style.
