Ok, ok, so I know the basics and my style is pretty normie tier and okay.

With that being said, how do I take it to the next level? How do I get that "wow factor" or just simply stand out while still being aesthetic and not too obscure?

I think if you saw him irl he'd stand out without looking obscure.

he would look like a fucking mong to me if i saw him irl. it's a red plaid coat if that to you is the cutting edge of fashion you need to set your sights higher.

to expand on that; just do what you like stop worrying about what other people think. develop a sense of what you like

if you're asking how to get a 'wow' factor then you're not cut out for fashion
it's not a game, you don't level up by buying a red jacket

you either have an eye and a passion for aesthetics or you don't

i think everyone has an idea of what they like and can fit comfortably into that if they're honest with themselves

this is actually the best advice

All these people here saying stop worrying about people judging you and saying need to stop because even though it's true, it's not helping.

If you have the basics, you should start investing in nice pieces. A pair of cp's, a nice jacket, some nice sweaters, etc. The best advice I got here is that you can learn everything about exercising in a couple hours, but it takes time to develop personal style, even years. A lot of people here think wearing full rick is cutting edge but it's not practical, and outside a photo you look like a dumb ass.
I would shop clearence, go to ssense, endclothing, and mrporter and see what clothes you like and then when a sale pops up that's when you should invest in pieces.

Wear something more unusual, more colourful. Dont wear much black, dark colour. Or just find your style/core

Find unique pieces from thrift stores and tastefully incorporate them into your fits, you will never advance beyond basic dressing unless you utilize subtle weird shit.

not true everyone who has been selecting their own clothes will have personal style you just need to hone in on that by being honest and not caring what others think

You need to start just grabbing what grabs you. Just doing you is the number 1 thing. If you want to ascend beyond Vans and Uniqlo basic uni bro core you have to be prepared for haters, because once you get beyond the safe and fast fashiony stuff jealousy and/or differences in opinion become a reality.

Lol I like how it’s a meme that Aziz’s style is apparently so on point in this show.
