Take that as you will.

It's popular, because it's a generic fruity/spicy bubblegum scent that's not too expensive and strong enough to cut through the stuff other dudes at da club are wearing. 19 year old club sluts probably like it because they're drunk and stupid and it smells like candy and they're too young to know any better. Greasy Persians and Pajeets love it because it's loud as fuck and cheap enough that they can just bathe in the stuff.

Gotcha, try more "mature" fragrances. This is an alley I don't know much about since I try to stay away from "hurr mature men only!!" fragrances based on shit I read on Fragrantica. Since I try to smell my age.

However I would recommend Eau Sauvage as I own it and does have that mature vibe. If you want something for the women 50+ you can try Balenciaga Pour Homme, it has the over 30 vibe for some people.

I'd also look into Bentley fragrances because they make scents for the "wealthy business man" type. specifically try Bentley for Men Intense.

I'd recommend something a little higher-end and more mature smelling. One of the Amouage scents like Jubilation, my mother loves that one. Don't want to go full Arab, but one of the scents that smells more formal and sophisticated. Something like Roja Enigma would be ideal if you're willing to spend that kind of money.

Personally, I feel there are very few designer scents I would classify as mature. Most of the, seem like they're intended for the under-30 crowd. Something like Terre D'Hermes might work.

Philosykos EDP vs EDT

The EDT smells less ''rich'', more like thin leaves and humidity but not much else, cleaner

The EDP smells ''richer'', which means you're not in a greenhouse anymore you're in a jungle, many thick leaves and even some coconut. Yes it has a somewhat greasy coconut accord which isn't really there in the EDT.

Pretty much this. It's mostly Slavsk, Arabs, and Pajeets mixing up bathtub frags. It's not at all hard to more or less reproduce many frags, because all of the same ingredients are available easily enough online, and it's a matter of getting the formulas right.

Obviously, shit like Roja, they're gonna have a hard time with since he uses all kinds of weird ingredients that are gonna be hard to find and probably won't be worth it to them to bother with, but designer frags and even stuff like Tom Ford or Creed is easy enough to mostly duplicate.

Amsterdam fag here. Haven't really posted in a few days, since I have had much relevant to report.

It's my last night here, flying home tomorrow, it's been quite a trip. I am currently anosmic to Narciso Rodriguez for Her. I know girls are wearing it, I can see the bottles in their rooms, sometimes they even spray a little on before we get started, but I cannot smell that stuff anymore. Also, one of the escorts I saw, the one who dubbed my penis "Apollo" because of my bottle of Creed MI in the bathroom has now changed her favorite perfume listed in her profile to MI, so that's kinda cool I guess. Women really, really seem to love that stuff.

Gonna take a look at the duty free tomorrow. Schipol has a pretty good selection usually. Might cop Amouage Beach Hut if they have it. I know they carry Amouage, I bought Bracken there last time, but Beach Hut may be too new. Also thinking about L'instant EDP, though I don't know if they carry Guerlain. I imagine they must.

So that's it for me for now. I'm always here, but I won't be in Amsterdam fag mode again for a while.

It's actually not bad, fairly sophisticated as far as designer scents go IMO. If you're willing to spend, get a sample of Amouage Beach Hut. Has a very nice green-mint opening with a little sweetness, kind of a similar vibe to Eros, but more natural smelling. Dries down into a dry, minty wood.

If you look at this >>12876124 you'll notice its on the bottom left side in the woodsy section. I think its masculine. Its really hit or miss with some people but it has a outdoor smell that compliments my lifestyle so it works for me. Plus the scent is very long lasting and can smell it on me even after a long day.
Allure is a good smell but it doesnt last too long. I like to wear it on a day where I am not doing too much. I put it on after i get out of the shower because it smells fresh, masculine, and clean. Its not inexpensive either, but if you're looking for something that is more potent, go with the Allure Sport version in the silver bottle. It lasts a lot longer and is more concentrated.

My Gallagher core sampler arrived today, smartly packaged, with extra samples of Blackcurrant Silk and Tulip Silk. I have to give the guy credit for how professional everything looks and for the speed of shipment. Not bad for a one man operation. But how are the scents?

I'm starting by testing THAT Guy tonight, as it's one of the two or three I considered blind buying. I've given myself four sprays from the mini vial, and allowed things to settle for five minutes. On the reverse of the Gallagher mini poster, the perfumer gives brief descriptions of each scent. Daniel calls the opening of THAT Guy "unmistakably masculine". My first impression was Christmas candle. Waxy, cheaply woody, and not especially pleasant. It's settling down a bit now, and some of the other notes are coming out, but it seems like a bit of a hot mess at this point. I'll give it the night and see if things get any better.

So THAT Guy was a bust my first wear. It did get sweeter, but the fruit never managed to shake off the holiday wreath inexplicably dumped on top of it. I have enough left for three or four more wears, but I'm not in a hurry to repeat the exercise.

This morning belongs to Bergamust. I'm out doing chores and errands with my normal four spray wear on. It's light and breezy, falling somewhere between Allure Homme Sport and JHaG Anyway. Actually, it's pretty much a straight up cross between Anyway and Bond Eau de New York. The bitter bergamot and the ambroxan "bubble" around you are together evocative of a citronella candle, though that's not intended as a putdown. I don't mind this one at all.

One really hot girl who also knows the real juice thought it was Creed and wouldn't believe me when I said it's a $30 bottle. All these comments were about 8 hours after spraying it on in the morning, so the performance is top tier.

Wore it bar hopping on Friday and didn't get any direct compliments on the fragrance but I got a lot of girls tapping my ass and a lot of gay dudes trying to hit on me. What are the best places for splits/decants? I know Reddit is good. The Fragrantica forums are a bitch to navigate.

Any Canadians have experience buying samples/decants from anyone? Who's the best? I recall looking around online but never being able to pull the trigger.

what's the point of spraying less than 6 sprays when wearing a fragrance?

>> No.12887622

You only notice your perfume more because of the contrasting odors of the bathroom. It's that noticeable all the time to others.

>>12887457
Six sprays might be too much for some perfumes, depending on formulation and sprayer. I cap Bleu at three, applied beneath clothes. Same with most Creeds. Many Ouds and other heavy wood fragrances are so strong that you can only safely apply one, two sprays tops.

For a weaker or summer scent, five or six should be fine.

The EdT is so dirt cheap that it's more worthwhile to blind buy. I'll post how the EdP compares when I can sample it. (Although I'm waiting for decantshop to restock Guerlain Habit Rouge so)

Polo Red for work maybe? go light on the sprays since it may be strong for that purpose.
Eros and Joop for going out, maybe make Joop a club scent or for busy cold days where you'll be in a crowd as its so strong. Eros can be a casual/club scent, I don't think anyone would mind, not compared to the sweetness and projection Joop has.

Of those, BDC is the most versatile, and +1 to the EDP. I'd personally get this over the others. Fresh, clean, masculine, performance is just okay though.

Second would be Prada L'Homme. Smells clean and professional, but something about that powdery sweetness that to me would be a little too much all day long.

Third D&G The One. Smells okay, leans mature, scent is very familiar to most but that will vary depending on where you live.

Fourth Man In Black, smells Iike a less sweet refined Spicebomb. Not very versatile though and the pepper will put some people off.

Last, Code Profumo, what a disgusting sugary mess. I hated the original Code, and this one even more so.
