i always see these open racks (or whatever you cal them in english) on /fa/ all the time - and they make me cringe
unless you only have, i don't know, only ten items and constantly in use, it all gets dusty and/or takes on the smells of your place (esp cooking)
i also don't understand why the shoes are kept with the clothes. i've seen this in u.s. closet spaces, maybe it's a climate thing, but where i am, the weather is kind of shit / wet half of the year, and it would be so gross.

just moved to really old house myself and my apartment doesn't really have any closet space to begin with
and if I were to buy wardrobe, it would take up too much space from other things, that kinda open rack works perfectly for me right now and I try to aim for sorta small 'capsule' wardrobe anyway
now I only need some sorta shelf or drawer for my knits, tees & other shit I don't want to hang
pallets are kinda huge fucking meme when it comes to interior design but my neighbor has big fucking stack of them and he said I can use them if I want so I'll probably make something from those

but i live in an old house too, and after a week there can be a fine layer of dust everywhere
i mean, maybe it doesn't bother you, but i would store the more sensitive items at least in some sort of box or container (maybe on the pallets, maybe you can make it work to look ok) or as you mention in drawers
also sunlight can bleach out clothes, so be careful with darker items

More practical, aestethical and functional those even have something called drawers to place ur socks and underwear inside.

I hate this room. It's such a stereotypical tech nerd who moved out of his mom's basement setup. Computer is still the focus, office chair is a bit too over-designed, still likes anime but feels like he/she can class it up to make it acceptable, whimsical chair in a bright color for an interesting pop, sheepskin doing fuck all under the desk.

It's so generic and lacks any personality outside of a stereotype.

It's kinda split 50/50 among those I know. I grew up in a house where shoes on was fine if they were clean but if it was muddy or snowy outside obviously leave them by the door. I don't think there's anything wrong with leaving shoes on in the house if you're not a gross fuck, Just clean your damned house/floors regularly.

Great! You perfectly described legofag. But that photo isn't desaturated/monochrome because you can see on the left of the shelf some greenery and rocks.

nah, I can tell it's desaturated because I own that issue of Kinfolk and the color is markedly more colorful

also what do you have against this person?
sounds like you stalk them and their photos
why?

I'm guessing they are a foreign national working for Lego given the mix of Danish, Swedish, and American publications and the large Lego figurine.

What do you think of these table legs? They basically pinch around the top, so it would be easy to adapt by changing just the top if you get bored. I quite like the idea, and they dont look bad either

i like the plant idea - like one of those big palm leaf plants. also put a bedside table next to your bed. Put some curtains up on the window - neutral or linen color. Also i think a tall lamp on the floor and/or short swing arm lamp on your bedside table are nice. Definitely with yellow light/soft lightbulbs. I like having a little plant on the window sill. A nice tapestry on the wall can add a lot if you're not into pictures. Also maybe a standing bookshelf to display some stuff and keep your books

Hey /fa/ I'll move into a 28m2 room in October but I had to buy up the old furniture inside.

One of the furniture pieces is a huge ass Ikea "pax" closet that I don't really need since I'm a male and I don't own as much clothes.

Could I use it for something else or could I disassemble it without completely destroying it? I know IKEA doesn't have the best quality.

Unironically posting my living room (again).

What should I put above the fireplace? I was thinking of either a nice analog clock, or framing my picture of The Queen and moving it there. I've also been meaning to get some plants.

>> No.12715519

Move the tapestry above your window. It clutters up the window space, and distracts from a nice view through a large window. Hang it vertically on the wall to the right of the window, just right of the TV, and move those other two japanese pieces closer together to compensate, perhaps both centered over the fireplace.
