the colors work well together, and i appreciate the mixture of textures.

the shoes look pretty low end and non-descript. they don't do the entire ensemble any favors in my opinion. also the manner in which the pants hold certain wrinkles make them look cheap. my guess is that the material is pretty thin.

for the most part, you achieve the aesthetic you're attempting--from the way you dress you look like a relaxed college upperclassman or graduate student. but you could make some improvements if you so desired.

This is one of the worst fits I've seen here. Nothing is working right. The jacket is over-designed and fits really awkwardly. The pants are much too big both in the width and length. Whatever you're doing in your pocket isn't helping. You've apparently noticed that the jeans are too long since you rolled them a bit but you didn't even cuff them properly, let alone think of having them hemmed. Why are you wearing giant headphones? Do you wear those outside of the house? Why not at least take them (and the backpack) off for the photograph? The shoes are fairly inoffensive, so there's that.

The silhouette and fitting are a mess with the jacket fitting rather snugly around your probably overweight (or possibly jacked and poorly dressed) torso but loosely in the sleeves. The pants are just a mass of fabric pooling all over the place.

There is hope though.

Aside from the obvious lose weight critique here are ways to fix your outfit.
Ditch the jacket/sweatshirt thing. It looks like it came from Yesstyle and it fits poorly. You can keep the military influence but get something simple that's made from a more substantial material than jersey. Woven fabrics are better suited to outerwear than knits as they hold their shape better, are more durable, and more weather resistant.
Find your true pants size and inseam and buy straight leg jeans in that size. Have them tailored if necessary for a better fit.
Invest in some earbuds so you don't look like a neckbeard in public.
If you're the same guy I suspect you are from other waywt threads you might want to shave your beard or at least trim it.

If you're going for a punk look then black is cool.
I think you may want to try some different cut jeans because the silhouette these create are a little unflattering in my opinion.
Idk about earth tones but if you want to stick to darker stuff you can try mixing it up while staying monochromatic. Some dark grays, layer some white etc, make the fit pop a bit more, add volume.
