I agree but only to an extent. We subsidize the wrong stuff here. It's too cheap to eat unhealthy. There should be financial incentive to eat well. Carbs should carry heavier financial penalties, chicken/turkey/other lean white meats and veggies should get the benefit of the subsidies that get removed from the carb heavy stuff. If you are good at ballparking calories (which only comes from lots of practice at counting them diligently and eating lots of the same stuff), then you can also not count every day and just estimate. Never Sacrifice Muscle

Even when fat loss takes precedence, do your best to minimize catabolism (muscle loss). Why? Because muscle is pretty and it's metabolically expensive. Why would you want to destroy something that eats up calories and makes bodies look harder and tighter. And if you think your legs (or any other areas) are "too big" the worst thing you could do is try to atrophy them.

Don't get so weird about trying to lose weight or shrink body parts that you end up making yourself weak, skinny, flabby, and metabolically stunted. This is what happens when muscle gets the shaft. Weight train for the purpose of building more, not losing fat. Fat loss will happen easily and inadvertently if you become a fanatic about building muscle and being able to see that muscle.

Four Muscle-Building Tools

Power.If the way you lift is always slow and controlled, look for opportunity to add more power movements. Schedule it in. Make explosive action an essential. Try Olympic lifts, kettlebell swings, depth jumps, broad jumps, and anything that forces you to use all the speed you've got.

Time under tension.If the way you lift is always some variation of a power movement, then increase time under tension by slowing the eccentric (negative) portion of your lifts and controlling the weight. Try back-off sets, partials, and drop sets when you've exhausted yourself with full range of motion. Being able to lift a very heavy weight for one or two reps (though important) won't automatically score you conspicuous muscle mass. You have to earn it with increased time under tension.

Strength.If you're so obsessed with feeling a muscle burn and ache for tons of reps that you keep yourself from increasing the weight, then reprioritize. Strength is still essential. Find your one rep max. Test yourself and set PRs. Take the time to get out of your comfort zone with high weight and low reps.

Isolation.Zero in on muscle groups that'll improve the look of your physique: delts, lats, and glutes are common key areas for women. Other areas naturally become jacked and gorgeous with the big basic compound lifts. But isolation can add even curvier curves right where you want 'em.

Contour your body with weight training. You've got all the tools.

haha, I eat a BIT more than just popcorn, I was being tongue in cheek but that is a good portion of my food desu. bad answers. i fast regularly, short (24-36 hours) regularly and long (4-7 days) once a month or so.

one day is not nearly enough to require any sort of electrolytes or micronutrients, and you are probably drinking plenty of water.

here's what's happening: your body is used to burning glucose as fuel, so the headache around 20+ hours or so is usually caused by low blood sugar while your body is transitioning into ketosis. if you're doing 24-48 hour or longer fasts regularly, i would suggest sticking to a low carb diet or a ketogenic diet if you can manage.

things can get a little weird if you're eating a high carb diet, (most of you are, unfortunately) you're regularly going without food for 24-36 hours, and then refeeding on carbs, especially if you exercise.

since your body is used to burning glucose as fuel, you're subjecting yourself to low blood sugar over and over again, and if you go to the gym or exercise or do anything that requires you to move around a lot, you are risking exercise-induced hypoglycemia. symptoms of this are nausea, feeling light-headed, feeling sick to your stomach, vomiting, sweating, and a tingling feeling in your extremities.

Yeah I think dieting is a lot about experimenting with what works for your body. We aren't special snowflakes, but we do have linages that make different things work for different people. Calories in calories out is universal, but the more subtle ways of accomplishing that seem to vary from person to person. Maybe a higher fat diet agrees with one person for staying the most satiated, maybe a high protein works better for another. I think a lot of this is about experimenting within reason. Also what works with ones lifestyle.

I would still totally date/marry a bald guy, esp if he can grow a good beard, but there's beauty pros and cons to being a man or woman. You can at least exercise and learn a skin care routine. I got scared of cutting calories too quickly in fear that it would shock my body and I wouldn't be able to lose weight, but if I use my calories right I feel pretty full on like 1000 and I could easily eat less.
I run 3 miles 3 times a week.

Like instead of having a full straight line from hips to chest or having a the classic feminine waist with a wide curve your torso is a straight line with a smaller but sudden dip in the middle
I have the same thing and it's pissing me off and I don't know if it's just lack of muscle or what
But other thin people don't necessarily look like something is squeezing their waist even if they seem to have very little muscle mass

it's a combination of a few things, but a lack of muscle is the majority of it. when you're really dry from dieting or fasting, your skin tightens up, your stomach caves in a bit, and your (natural) waist gets a lot smaller.

the muscles you're lacking are mostly your transverse abdominis and inner/outer obliques. if you wanted to fill it out, i would recommend doing some planks (side and front) regularly.
