I can apreciate the current trends, but I think that a lot of people on this board don't realize that you can't go to work as a grown man dressed as fucking goth ninja, in full ricks or wearing vans old skool and stonewash denim.

I have been thinking similarly just recently.

Too many men, even older, just don't look good in their clothing. Their is something classic that is missing but would be welcomed if it returned.

There are some current trends which even older men follow that I think look bad:

- Too many men do not let their hair grow. Medium length hair with nice texture looks great on many men. Currently, I see many haircuts that are overly tapered. I cannot see the appeal in looking extremely groomed. I think it is detracting.

- Eyebrows the have been shaped on both the top and bottom.

- Overly shaped beards

- Wearing everything too skinny. I think skinny clothing suits skinny people. If you have big thighs or love-handles, it becomes more obvious and makes proportions look worse.

- Being an obvious trendy fuck with a stupid top knot.

- Bow ties with a dress/casual shirts and no jacket.

Besides all of that, I think that being in shape is very important. Over two thirds of the adult population is overweight. Men have an average waist size which rounds up to 40 inches. It's not much better for women at 38 inches.

I see what you mean. It's not quite your point but it made me think of like how normcore looks nice when the body type and proportions are nice. Looking good is all based on body.

I think a large part of it is they don't care and when they do "care" (if they have to dress up for a wedding, for example), they'll wear some flamboyant bowtie to stand out. It's all based on stereotypes for what "fashionable" is perceived as. People think it means being outlandish and eye-catching.
