White walls are usually best. For bedding, I would suggest keeping it to cool muted colors and neutrals to help you sleep. White sheets are nice looking, cheap, and easy to find in any size, but a thin light colored stripe could look good too. You should also decide what color of wood to have in the room: dark or light, red or yellow toned, etc. which is really up to personal preference.
