Grailed, and also save your money. Just wait for sales and then buy slowly and only when you know you want something 100% and it's at a good price. You can serious get really good jeans from Grailed for dirt cheap compared to their retail price.

Otherwise, just go thrifting and have fun doing that. Don't settle for anything unless it fits perfect and looks great

It being reverse weave fabric? It's kind of their signature product, so I assume so

That roughness you're describing is probably more related to your heavy hand when washing sweats than the actual fabric. Cold water, gentle cycle, laundress or trader Joe's or Method detergent, tumble dry low
My Camber shirts weren't pre washed or treated with any kind of chemical softener and it has taken a year to soften them, but that's not entirely related....just the only clothes I own that were rough even new with tags

Hey guys. I'm going to a wedding at the end of July and I don't know what to wear. The problem is that the groom and his friends consider a blazer to be really really formal, that's what's screwing me up. I don't want to show up the groom. I can't really see any of the groom's friends wearing a suit. His social circle (and family for that matter) isn't very formal when it comes to these kinds of events. So I guess that means that I should ditch the blazer.. right?

So do I just wear a blue dress shirt, grey dress pants, belt, and some Oxford shoes? It sounds like that's dressing too down.

Thank you in advance.

Hey guys, middle aged man here (late 30s).

I work out of NYC and I wear almost entirely "smart casual" (anything short of a suit, although I wear suits sometimes too). Yes, even on weekends. I really like nice leather shoes, quality shirts, good trousers, well made socks, and so on, and I know a lot.

However, I'm completely clueless about "streetwear" and lately my work has required me to do a lot of site visits with tech industry firms. In case you are not aware, the way I dress is not really acceptable at such firms, and I need to look plausible in sneakers and t-shirts. I've gotten comments, and if I'm conspicious enough to be getting comments, it can't be good. I gather it's partly because the way I dress was popular temporarily with younger adults in the early 2010s but is now starting to fall out of favor (although I've been dressing like this my whole life)

Where's a good place to learn about what's ok and what isn't, among people who wear sneakers and t-shirts? I want to have a plausible set of outfits, but I don't want to look like I'm trying to be a "sneaker head" or wear fashion-forward stuff like those ridiculous baggy white tunics. Just something tasteful and understated and not wildly expensive (I don't like the fact that sneakers basically self-destruct and cannot be recrafted, which is why I've never been keen on spending on this kind of stuff). Like, I see these "common projects", they're alright but I don't see myself spending $400 on that when they're going to disintegrate after 20 wearings and/or fall out of fashion soon. $100, fine.

I don't want to go to /mfa/ because I've been there and some of the shit I read makes me want to scream (someone said leather soled shoes shouldn't be worn on concrete, WTF). Maybe this is terrible, but intuitively I'm inclined to trust in 4chan's autism here, even though maybe I'll get fucked over. But I'm at your mercy, /fa/.

Pic related, it's probably how I come across, coming here to /fa/.

shoulder seam on tshirt shit hit at the end of shoulder, arms/torso/waist depending on style of shirt, length depending on style but usually slightly lower than hipbones

pants usually look best tapered, high rise is nicer lately. skinny is usually a good choice, if fat try tapered alternatives.

sweaters/sweatshirts follow the same rules as tshirts

suits have infographics

shoes should be proportionally okay

pairing high tops with shorts usually results in shorter legs

first off, Common Projects are just plain white sneakers, basics. they will not go out of fashion in a long time.
They have a stylish silhouette and design, but most of all you are paying for the quality with them.
/fa/ is pretty much primarily about streetwear, so I'd advise just to lurk here and try to seek out stuff that doesn't seem weird or tryhardy.
to start with:
tops: T-Shirts, hoodies, sweaters, casual shirts (OCBDs can be worn casually too)
bottoms: chinos in neutral colors, jeans. very casual fits can have joggers and sweatpants
shoes: sneakers
just remember that even if you dress in basics, you will look good (not out of place, good) if your clothes fit you and the colors match.
though with streetwear you should refrain from doing autistic #menswear-style hue matching
that easily makes you look dressy which is opposite of what you are requesting
instead you could try colors of different saturation and add different hues to accent.

>> No.11396313

>>11396279
>>11393057
also, now that I read that you are in your late 30s, I think you should try to carefully downshift from smart casual.
try out more casual fits with shirts, jeans and sneakers, but you shouldn't need to dress as casually as the younger people. as in, be more conservative and neutral with them.

It's not fast fashion! AA DOESN'T FOLLOW TRENDS! Back in the 2000's all the cool kids had AA hoodies with the contrast white strings/zippers, I'll admit it... THEY SELL THE SAME CRAP YEAR ROUND NOW AND FOREVER!

Anyway, what are my options? I don't see any other brands making fashionable basics like this! *sobs*

I need that consistency that comes with AA to satisfy my autism... AND THE DIFFERENT COLORWAYS! Sure I'd never wear half of them, but I like having a rainbow of colors to choose from. That's also the same reason why I latched onto the Fjallraven Kanken backpack, in addition to its bizarre box shape and perceived coolness factor of course. You see they will be manufacturing the popular styles such as the 2001 Fine Jersey Crewneck T-Shirt the end of space/time!

Should I wear a belt with jeans?

>> No.11397494

>>11397313
Yes unless you're going for poverty-core or crust or whatever.

Wearing pants with beltloops without a belt makes it look like you don't have a belt to wear. That said you're better off wearing no belt that a dress belt with casual pants or a casual belt with dress pants.
