Yeah mayn let's get this shit rolling. Someone make a sticky for sizing. For pants it's:

S is for 28-30
M is for 30-32
L is for 32-34

Sizing is close to consistent for all 3 brands. What I noticed is that CDG's mainline menswear has a wider seat area and thigh cut that Yohji who has an almost Breeches type cut which widens out near the knees. Issey doesn't do much with his cuts as texture is his game. Also, fatties need not apply.

For YY, Y's is slimmer by a tad bit in my experience than YYPH. Someone also write sizing for the different lines in CDG like Black, CDG CDG, Shirt, Junya, and Ganryu.

Also OP for the next thread make sure you don't allow CDG Play :)

>>11309563
SS13 is Yohji's best menswear collection of the decade.

>>11309612
Yeah sticky for the next post. Let's work on the sticky on this thread. You can CnP some of the sizing guides around the internet. SF has a good sizing guide on Yohji.

Main brands would be CDG (no Play pls and this includes Junya and Ganryu), Yohji, Issey, Julius, UC, Soloist, and maybe Sacai. Other people suggest other brands.

Sizing

Please bear in mind that the sizing information below is strictly a guide and that as always, getting measurements or trying on the items themselves is the only way to know with any sort of accuracy whether a piece is going to work for you.

>Tops
>1 is for XS/44
>2 is for S/46
>3 is for M/48
>4 is for L/50
>5 is for XL/52

>Pants
>S is for 28-30
>M is for 30-32
>L is for 32-34

>One Size
The term one-sized gets thrown around a lot but in fact very few pieces in a certain collection are produced in just one size, if any at all.The garments that are generally one sized are knits and t-shirts, those are often just produced in a 3 (M/48).

>Tips and Notes
A good way to approach Yohji sizing is to think about height rather than width, if you're tall you should probably size up one so the inseam is long enough, no matter how the waist is cut. This goes for jackets as well, you get the intended balance in length and sleeve length. It's a common "mistake" to size down because the measurements look big, remember that it's often better to size up than down when it comes to Yohji.

For YY, Y's is slimmer by a tad bit than YYPH.

Shoes are Red Wing Postmans, I wear them almost every day.

Shape of the jacket is super soft, giving enough dimensionality and contour to the body without exaggerating any particular feature (Yohji generally likes his shoulders to curve a bit more and sit further from the body), so definitely one of the slimmer Yohji pieces I've owned. Pants are also quite slim and have enough of a straight leg/a slight flare to give some nice movement in motion. Jacket is semi lined and the wool gab breathes nicely in spring/summer but still isn't paper thin like other designers' S/S gab. Stitching is super precise but the main details are what the setup is all about really, the braids dangle about in movement and the various zippers open and close very easily which is something I always appreciate haha.

Your shirt doesn't fit you at all when not tucked in, it's too long and too loose. It makes it look like you have really wide hips since everything just kind of overlaps in that area. It looks okay when tucked in but still too loose - if you were /fit/ it would definitely look great though. Try to wear your pants higher and obviously the sneakers don't fit the rest of the outfit but that is probably intended.

try wearing the pants somewhat higher and using a belt, also tuck the shirt somewhat in. Open the top two or so buttons and watch how it fits. Might look much better then, since the loose fit of the shirt contrasts well with the slick transition to your pants

yeah that's not my thing anon. i don't like that type of style and its looks too much like a shitty 80s B movie villain.

on the outfit, the shirt is cut oversized which is why its long and loose. i've been experimenting with longer top silhouettes lately as my body is extremely bottom heavy as is in that my legs are a lot longer than my torso. top buttons are also unbuttoned there but its not visible in that angle. the point here was to create a rectangular silhouette in my body and make myself look a lot stockier and wider hence the breaking in the pants as i enjoy that type of silhouette. shoes were also chosen for comfort. i also think that not tucking in would allow for a smoother transition to the pants as tucking in always allows for billowing around the waist area

>> No.11314863

>>11314852
Yeah, but you think wrong there, Anon. If you want a "rectangular silhouette" you need to tuck it in, because otherwise you look like an hourglass.

Take a look at the pic you posted. Slightly tucking in allows for that small billowing of fabric to happen which breaks the straight line which would allow for the rectangular shape to be achieved. If anything, this allows for the hourglass shape.

rei's role in the collections is closer to a creative director than a designer.

she has a huge team that does the dirty work, she provides direction and approves final designs

at the beginning of new seasons she will visit her design team and announce the collection's theme (often time a single word ie, "tattoo" or "life/skull") then peace out until they get some shit done

Favorite jap labels you own in your wardrobe?

>Needles shirt
Extremely light/airy, thin but nicely structured in collar/cuffs, intentional distressing at seams, pattern's really cool.

Hender scheme
Wont lie, part of the reason i own these is cz i fell for the hype/ coolness of the whole veg tan meme. But otherwise they're cool as hell, customizable (will resole AF1's sometime soon with a christy moreflex) and quite comfy. AF1's surprisingly bulky and sizing's a bit inconsistent. Their non MIP line is sized 1/2 smaller while the MIP's generally fit larger. Both my MIP 01 and 08 fit a tad big.

I've got a white mao collared shirt from needles which I'm a fan of, it's not as in your face as their usual multicoloured stuff but it's definitely still a strange piece. there's a fake cuff, unusable pockets on the back. I agree with dude who said it's airy and relaxed, mine was extremely oversized (on a Japanese person it would look like a tunic or kurta). I use it for monotone stuff or summer with a tee underneath. Good construction and sewing though.

>> No.11323207

Quality's good, like i said mine was light and airy, makes a great lightweight summer shirt or a neat layering piece for winter. There are some intentional distressing on some pieces so raw hems and loose threads can be a thing.
Solid construction though the seams, no loose buttons unlike some of my shirts.
