Can anyone recommend sub $200 or DIY platform for a twin-size futon?

Attached is Donald Judd's spring st loft, same kind of bed, it's a genuine japanese futon not college student shit but half the size. Need something similar, about twice the height you can't sex on the ground but wood cut that wide is expensive and hard to source.

Funny enough, that's an early photo of a renovated capsule in the Nakagin Capsule Tower which was completed in Tokyo a little over forty years ago by the Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa. It was one of the most striking designs in the Japanese Metabolism architectural movement which prioritized One of the prevailing ideas that would come out of Metabolism is that of the 'Capsule Hotel' which is still widely used in Japan today in the form of small, cheap, and efficient temporary living solutions.
These days it's almost completely disparaged because it simply wasn't meant to last long without the regular maintenance it's been neglected of. It's ironic as the architectural movement often involved the consideration of biological systems, including natural development and decay. Nobody's stepping forward to fully foot the big repair bill. In all likelihood the tower be torn down and used for apartments within the next five years.

Maybe, but it just looks like any sloped dormer top floor, they just didn't put up a flat wall and made use of the extra space, even with lost height. Many houses I've seen up here in Canada could have a room like that, it's all dependant on how people upgraded their house.

Not so sure about those lamps. I have a desk sized version of the black one by Eurofase (deadstock, don't see any info floating around on it), and I've seen the pendant ones at CB2, but not with a rigid attachment like the one on the wall.

True... You'd think if you were renting you'd want to go for neutral colours with tile & such so whoever is buying can customize it to their liking. It's easy to add colour into a space, but you can't take it out without renovation.
