What is /fa/'s stance on the Margiela paint splatter GATs. I'm thinking of copping a pair of GATs this summer but I'm questioning if the paint splatter is a good option (I feel like it's hard to create fits around unless you have a really disheveled aesthetic). Tbh I'm questioning if GATs are a good move at all or if they've become basic fuccboi tier.

Also does anyone know any good sneakers that have soles that reach the tip of the shoes like in my pic? I love this style and want to see more of them.

Hard mode:

Never understood why someone wouldn't just buy NB's or something instead. Just looks like someone dolled up an NB with a little leather patch and glitter. Just buy a special ed NB and save 300$, srsly.

Oh and also, if you want something more personal and not so fashion victim-ish you can try buying real GATs for 20 bucks and just mess around.

Tbh I don't think anyone who compliments MMM splatters is a pleb man. The fact that they recognize them means they aren't totally mindless of fashion (even if MMM has recently exploded in popularity for whatever reason *cough* Kanye *cough*).

I guess it depends on your city. In Toronto Margiela is pretty obscure and very hip, though the fact that the Saks that just opened dt has the entire MMM menswear line and literally features MMM shoes as the first thing you see when you walk to their menswear floor might change this. Black people love MMM because of Kanye and Future but they seem to always go for the Futures in bold colours.

I'm looking to buy a "defining" pair of sneakers. Nothing less than $150 and nothing over $300. I'm sick of holding out on fucking ultra boosts because they're near impossible to get. The same goes for Yeezys. The worst part is (to me) anyway these are some of the best high end sneakers out there and the colour ways are also fantastic.

What alternatives are out there for expensive, aesthetic sneakers?

Guys help. I have been losing sleep over this.

I work at an Apple Store and I have pretty much free choice over what shoes I wear. My Superstars are starting to fall apart, and I am in the market for daily wear black sneakers for when I am not wearing my 1000 mile.

I have it narrowed down to pretty much either Busenitz, SB Dunks, or Air Jordans. My question is more in regards to durability. Do you guys have experience with how long these last in a retail store environment being worn for 8-10 hours a day? I need something that isn't good to fall apart and look janky after a few months, but still have cred.

Also as a side question, does anyone own pick related and wear them with jeans? The material looks almost denim and I'd be afraid of looking like I am wearing denim pajamas with footies. Although that actually sounds dope.

But if you wear one or two flashy designer pieces for attention it proves that you don't really belong in designer clothes and utilize one or two gimmicks to lropel yourself into luxury

Which is why wearing one or two rick pieces are lame.

Wearing real designer pieces or super high quality like wearing a loro piana you don't need to show a label to see how soft a hand it has and the stitching is leagues ahead of some jcrew junk

Inb4 some poor person says jcrew sources their fabric from loro piana they use the China stuff

Anyone have recs for low profile sneakers?
I have a pair of Nike, but they feel so bulky. Women's nike's always look so much sleek/low profile.

Converse are fine, but no comfort. Plus the thin sole makes me look shorter than normal.

It depends. My arches are flat as a pancake so they were digging into the inside of my foot. Thankfully it's just a small piece of Styrofoam glued to the underside of the insole so you can take it off really easily if you're having a problem with it.

Check out the shoes from Gustin. I bought a pair of their white CP clones and they are identical in nearly every way to my CP Achilles low. The only difference is the gold lettering on the heel. Well worth the $150 but the wait time is pretty far out, maybe 3 months unless you find a pair on eBay or grailed.
