What's the most /fa/ length for casual chinos? No break? quarter break?

>> No.10549413

33 tbh

>> No.10549417

no break

>> No.10549418

tapered. if theres a gap between your ankle and the pants, you look autistic

>> No.10549520

>>10549418
If there's a gap width wise or length wise?

I didn't mean the inseam length, I meant the amount of break

>> No.10551606

I go for a no break, you can show off your socks this way also.

>> No.10551970

>>10551606
Got any pics of what it looks like? For dress pants I definitely prefer no break or at the very most a quarter break however I'm only 19 and mostly wearing chinos with either tees or untucked button downs so I'm nervous it might be a clash in styles

I also generally wear them with sneakers

this is what I'm gonna get them hemmed to, this picture was taken while standing

too short?

I basically want as close as I can get to breaking without actually breaking

No break, and I sometimes even cuff higher once or twice. Also I make sure they are too tapered, they look stupid tight around your ankles (unlike jeans)

Chinos don't look as good stacked as jeans too.

(pic related is the best example I could be bothered to find)

Do you mean they don't or do look good tight around your ankles? Personally I dislike the example you gave, too wide imo and might even look better longer

don't like the clunky docs or whatever either

Help me effay for I am lost

and yeah I said the example isn't that good but too tight and long looks bad imo.

Oh well, I've been trying to find skinny chinos since I'm 6'1" and 140 lbs, I can't do straight or slim straight pants

but I tried on skinny chinos at a "normal length" and the break just looks retarded

why is this the case? Are the models not as skinny as me so it looks better? Are the pants fits different? Is it the angle of the pictures? Are the models' pants altered and moved around to look best at that angle or what

>> No.10552883

Because I've only seen one picture of no break so far and I don't like it

>> No.10552926

yeah but I think most model's photos of no break also look retarded

and maybe the pants I had were too short or too long or I was too skinny and that's why the breaking looks dumb.

>>10552902
is that a compliment anon

>> No.10552931

I like my chinos to be a more loose fit that is only slightly tapered below the knees. I also like them to just barely touch the top of my shoe, so no break I guess.
I think shit like this >>10552869 looks retarded.
I only get slim/skinny fits on jeans because they stack better and I feel are overall better for that kind of fit.

>> No.10552958

>>10552880

too long

>> No.10553027

>>10552931
The one you quoted could be a bit shorter and slightly looser but I just like the silhouette. I dunno, I'm already skinny and was always anxious of looking like I was trying to fit in to my dad's clothes, plus I've always associated looser pants with poorly dressed guys especially throughout highschool.

>>10552958
Yeah clearly, but why does it look better on the models? And do you think I could go shorter without looking Thom Browne-esque?

they hem them on the models or the models have longer legs

>>10553064
>But the models' breaks are longer than mine and look cleaner...
it's a combination of the angle the picture was taken at and the tighter fit around the ankle

in either case skinny low rise chinos are abominations, they're going to look very dated in a few years. avoid.

>> No.10553269

>>10553070
Alright so I just need a taper, got it fam

No but seriously I just buy jcrew chinos since they fit the best and have decent quality, I don't have the money to buy decent quality medium rise chinos and I can't imagine wearing anything other than slim fitting pants

>> No.10553289

>>10553070
>>10553269
Also for the record most skinny pants from normal stores (i.e. not ASOS or H&M) fit more like slim pants since I'm skinny as shit

This isn't me, but this is about how long I wear them. I think the almost high water look, looks good. And I also wear them with sneakers. Chinos can be dressed up or down. I will wear them with everything, untucked Oxford cloth button down, t-shirt, sweater, cardigan, you name it.
